Is there a way to re-arrange the order the expenses reflected in the profit and loss statement to a desired order?

Hello there, @froilan.

At this time, re-arranging the order and expense reflected in the Profit and Loss report is unavailable. I’ll take note and send feedback to let our engineers know your business needs.

In the meantime, you can export the report to Excel and re-order the expense category from there.

Here’s how to export your Profit and Loss report:

  1. Go to the Gear ⚙ icon.
  2. Under Tools, select Export Data.
  3. On the Reports tab, set the desired date range.
  4. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
  5. Select Export to Excel.

On QuickBooks desktop, you can click and hold on the diamond next to the account name in the Chart of Accounts, and then move the account to the desired location. Unfortunately, such an option is currently not available in QuickBooks Online.

The only option in QBO is to assign account numbers as you need to the desired order for your Chart of Accounts. Refer to this article for more information.
