Hi there, @lori48.
Thank you for posting here in the Community. I can provide some clarification about the shutter sound in the QuickBooks mobile app.
There are two workarounds you can follow. First, please try to check if there's a way to switch off camera sound through the device settings. The steps will depend on the model and type of mobile that you have.
The second option you can do is to switch the device to Silent mode. It'll mute all the sound effects, as well as the shutter sound of your camera.
I appreciate your input about being able to configure the sound within the app. Please know that we always update the features in the product, and this preference might be available in the future.
As we assess this, I suggest you visit our QuickBooks Blog to stay updated with all the changes that are being made.
Also, I've attached some article you can use to locate our Frequently Asked Questions for the mobile app: QuickBooks Online Mobile app FAQ.
Drop me a comment below if you have any other questions. I'll be more than happy to help. Wishing you a good one.
Thank you for your reply. My camera shutter sounds are already disabled. The sound generated by the quickbooks mobile app is not a shutter sound I have ever heard come from my phone. It is loud and jarring. Also, I keep my phone on silent/vibrate all the time, yet this receipt capture sound from the quickbooks mobile persists. Any other thoughts on how to disable it?
Thank you for your reply. The camera shutter sounds on my phone are already turned off, and I leave the phone in silent/vibrate mode all the time, yet the receipt capture sound in the quickbooks mobile app persists. Any other thoughts on how to disable it? It is quite loud and disruptive in a work environment.
You can do it by go in the setting-->app setting-->go to quickbooks and turn off notification If you still didn't get then please visit crediblebh.
I'm having the same problem, and I've disabled every sound I can find. This is frustrating enough that I may use a 3rd party app to scan my receipts :(
Looks like this issue is still being investigated. There are still mobile phones that would continue to produce sound even if the device volume is set all the way down.
Same here. Thank you for your question. I would also like the answer.
To turn off the receipt capture sound on a mobile app, the specific steps may vary depending on the app you are using. However, here is a general approach that you can try:
Open the mobile app: Launch the app on your mobile device.
Navigate to settings: Look for a settings menu or an option that allows you to customize app preferences. This is typically represented by a gear or cog icon.
Access audio settings: Once you are in the settings menu, search for an option related to audio or sound settings. It might be labeled as "Sound," "Audio," or "Notifications."
Disable receipt capture sound: Within the audio settings, locate the specific setting that controls the receipt capture sound. It may be labeled as "Capture Sound," "Shutter Sound," or similar. Toggle the switch or option to disable the sound.
Save the changes: After disabling the receipt capture sound, look for a "Save" or "Apply" button to confirm and save the changes you made to the audio settings.
If you cannot find the audio settings or a specific option to disable the receipt capture sound within the app's settings, you can try the following alternatives:
Check the app's help or support documentation: Look for any documentation or user guides provided by the app developer. They might provide specific instructions on how to disable sounds or customize preferences.
Contact app support: Reach out to the app's customer support or contact their technical support team. They can provide guidance and instructions tailored to the specific app you are using.
Remember, the availability and location of settings may vary depending on the app's design and version. It's recommended to explore the app's settings thoroughly or consult the app's documentation or support resources for more precise instructions on disabling the receipt capture sound. [removed].
