Just upgraded to QuickBooks Pro online for the inventory support but I don't see the ability to create assemblies of items I have to create our finished product we sell?

We build a product that is made up of about 35 items.  Each one the cost of materials changes depending on the batch of parts or number we order.  Need to be able to track what pieces I have on hand, how many assembled products we have on hand as well as calculate how many assembled products we can build with what is on hand and what items are short.

I highly appreciate you for providing detailed information on your concern, @info-karnageweld.

Having the option to create assemblies in QuickBooks Online (QBO) isn't possible. However, you can explore a third-party app that tracks the quantity of the item created into an assembly item.

You can directly visit our QuickBooks App Store or go through the Apps menu in your QBO account.

Here's a quick guide on how:

  1. On the left navigational panel, select the Apps tab.Untitled.xoxo..png
  2. Go to the Find apps tab.

  3. From the search bar, type in the keyword to look for an app.

  4. Once done, you can choose an app from the lists that suits your business needs.

While this is not an option in QBO, you can use Bundles as a workaround. A bundle is a group of items you sell and track in QuickBooks. I'd be glad to show you how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the upper right corner, look for the Gear icon.
  3. Select Products and services.
  4. Tap New, then choose Bundle.
  5. From there, you can input the necessary details.
  6. Switch to the Products/services included in the bundle section, then add the necessary product/service from there.
  7. Once done, click on Save and close.

@info-karnageweld

You will need an inventory management app with the assembly feature or a manufacturing app to integrate with QBO. Otherwise, you should consider switching back to QB Desktop Premier or Enterprise.
