Thank you for checking in on this feature again. I understand how frustrating it is to see any movement on a feature you care about. While the support team can help you raise your voice and share your ideas, it is ultimately up to our engineering team to choose and prioritize new features.

Many factors go into determining the QuickBooks development roadmap, and customer suggestions are a big part of it! The engineers are constantly monitoring suggestions that come in through the community and the product's Suggestion area.

However, sometimes some factors can prevent or delay a new feature, which may be the case here.

We appreciate your patience as the developers work hard to address as many customers' needs as possible as quickly as possible!

This is how I handle customer requests to cc all invoices to the accountant, etc., as well.  Not convenient.  I use templates so for sending the monthly recurring invoices this problem is solved because there is a field for cc/bcc, but for additional invoices I need to remember to include the additional invoice in the Cc field.  Can you please add a Cc/Bcc field to the customer profile to eliminate the work???

I appreciate you for sharing an idea for using templates when sending the monthly recurring invoices to use a field for cc/bcc. Let me discuss how Cc (carbon copy) or Bcc (blind carbon copy) works in QuickBooks. I'll ensure you can send feedback so your suggestion is forwarded to the Product Development Team.

The CC/Bcc field appears on the Account and settings and other sales forms to send an email to multiple email addresses. With this, adding a Cc/Bcc field to the customer profile is currently unavailable. As mentioned above, you can only add the email address of the particular person on the customer's profile by entering multiple email addresses separated by a comma and space.

For now, I suggest going to the Gear icon in QuickBooks Online. From there, you're able to choose Feedback to submit a request about adding a Cc/Bcc field to the customer profile. Any recommendations are sent to our engineer for consideration in future updates.

The suggestion to add a cc field to a customer profile was MADE IN 2019 on the link that you directed us to.  It is still sitting there, unactioned.

If you are going to type a reply with as many words, at least have a clue what you are talking about.

Yes, there is an option under Account Settings to add Cc or Bcc to new invoices, but this will be added to all invoices (which is not what we are trying to accomplish here). I will put my request in to the Product Development team.  It is surprising that this issue has not been addressed at all, since the request has been made over three years ago.

Really? Requested in 2019 and has this much traffic and it is still not a feature??? Please send to Product Manager as a priority. From a former Product Manager, there is plenty of customer feedback to warrant this feature.

I upgraded (if you can call it an upgrade) from QB Desktop to QBO this week, but I wish I had seen this conversation thread prior to the upgrade. I can't believe a basic function like the ability to add cc: email addresses to the customer profile isn't available with QBO. Or that adding email addresses to the cc: field when sending invoices isn't saved in QBO so we don't have to re-enter email addresses in the cc: field each time we send invoices to clients. The engineers aren't business owners and accountants trying to work efficiently in QBO. I really find no excuse for QuickBooks to eliminate functionality in QBO that was available in the Desktop version. They have done a great disservice to their clients. I've provided comments through the Feedback function, but since this thread began in March 2019 (really QuickBooks - FOUR years ago), I can only conclude that the feedback is falling on deaf ears. This isn't a pie-in-the-sky function that users are requesting. This is a very real need. 

Agree! If it's available as a feature in the desktop version, it should be easy to add as a feature in the online version. What was supposed to be an easier and more convenient way to use Quickbooks has turned into a time suck. Really bad especially since this has been requested for over 4 years!

Thank you so much for posting this comment L80Lola!  Our IT team is pushing us to consider an "upgrade" from QB Enterprise to QBOnline because QBO supposedly has native integrations with so many 3rd party software packages.  But if basic functions, like being able to cc someone different on invoices for each customer, are not available in QBO, then we will be avoiding QBO like the plague.  Honestly wish there were more accounting software options available in this space.  QB Enterprise doesn't have native integrations with any of our needed 3rd party software (for billing, revenue recognition, AP automation, etc) and QBO is missing basic functionality.  Very frustrating that a basic issue like this has not been address in 4 years of requests!

Adding my voice to the "I can't believe this isn't a thing already" and "4 YEARS we've been asking about this and QB hasn't seen fit to add this!" I find it extremely difficult to believe that it's not possible and can only conclude that enough people haven't complained, hence my comment here.

Just upgraded (in August 2023) from QB Desktop 2013 to QBO. Expected QBO to be better than QB Desktop. What a disappointment! A simple feature like this, that was present in QB, is not in QBO, and has been requested more times than I care to count.
As above, it seems Intiuit is rather USELESS and remove features rather than enhance them. I'm switching to Pastel or something that can do things properly.

For the love of God and all things holy, can someone from QBO Support please opine on this?  It is absolutely absurd that this feature does not exist.  We've been requesting it for, what, five years now?  A business NEEDS to be able to cc multiple parties on an invoice, and having to manually type in those addresses each month/period is ridiculous, especially when you are sending out 200+ invoices a month.  

Thanks for posting!  Curious if you have other areas where QBO is a step backward rather than forward.  This issue with being unable to cc additional emails on an invoice is enough to make me avoid a QBO "upgrade", but now I'm curious if you have other examples of things that were possible in QB Desktop and are not possible in QBO.

None of us want to post this in "feedback" again and most of us likely don't have  time to read all the articles on the blog that probably cost a fortune to create and publish but don't answer 98% of the issues people post on here.

Kind of wish QB would stop spending SO much money of websites like their business blog and spend it on the all of the very basic needs that have still not been met in QB online. The list is endless. This basic feature still not being fixed since 2019 just seems insane. So many items like this just ignored.

Exactly.  This was requested years ago, and the QBO "support" team still told me to add the request, purporting some fairy tale that these requests actually get actioned.  I've been a user for 5+ years and yet to see ONE meaningful improvement.  

I log in yesterday or day before or whatever, and there's a massive GUI change that helps no one.  Invest the dollars into bolstering the product, not rearranging where your menu buttons are.  SMH.  

So I've never used desktop so cannot speak intelligently on what QBO does not have that QB Desktop does have.  As you mentioned, the CC'ing bit around invoicing is a massive step backwards.  

Another BIG thing for me: if your invoice upload has a negative number in it, it breaks.  So, like i mentioned, i invoice about 200 invoices a month, and I use the upload feature ofc because it's otherwise untenable.  If a client has a credit, or a 10% discount, or whatever, I cannot add a negative line item to the invoice.  It's such an inconvenience as I have to go into pretty much every invoice and negate positive numbers that should be negative, completely reversing the benefit of the template upload.  

 lmoorecalvarydevsvcs, Would love it if you can share some of the basic needs that still have not been met in QB Online.  There is a desire from our IT to move to QB Online because of all the native 3rd party integrations that are available, but I'm trying to do a realistic assessment of what we would LOSE by going to QB Online.  The inability to have cc emails in the customer profile that come up automatically whenever sending an invoice would be a huge step backward and a time suck for us, but it sounds like there is other basic functionality missing and I'm trying to find more information on that.  If someone is aware of another thread in the QB Support that addresses this, I'd love to know.  Thank you!

1) No "Other 1" and "Other 2" columns available in QBO, which QB Desktop had.

2) Cannot set paper size for PDF invoices in QBO. Customers that print these may get a surprize.

Maybe  these options are present, but I have not found.them.

Archie, how about you show us 2 or 3 examples of requested upgrades on this portal that actually got enacted.  I highly doubt anyone is reviewing that queue.  I have seen exactly 0 useful upgrades in the last 5 years to QBO.

@MBuechner  - I didn't have desktop but I am veteran 20 yr software product manager and I can say this is the worst piece of software I have every used and now, I have to use it everyday.

The reports are ridiculous. They upgraded reporting and you can no longer cross reference the data like before.

The reports for split transactions are useless for exporting to Excel because of how they are stacked.

Only one reports for Projects. 

Treat Projects like Customers so reporting doesn't make sense.

Any report you want for customers doesn't accurately total all sub accounts under the customer.

Very little bulk action activity, for example, you have go in and touch EVERY employee to change something.

Restrictions on custom fields. Can only add 3 to an invoice.

They have lots of bugs you don't find out about until it is too late. For example, if you implement sales tax, bulk editing of invoices now no longer works. Whaaat? There is huge uproar about this online and no one cares. Can you imagine the pain that is now?!?!

It blows my mind that QB thinks every customer and every vendor need the same items, emails, fields. Every one of my customers requires different items on their invoices.

Oh man, I could go on and on. Do a search in the community on lost functionality or no longer works in QBO...things like that and you will see how livid people were and still are about the moving to online. My cousin has been using QB for 20 years. She said if they make her move to online, she is quitting based on how much functionality she will lose. It would make her worker harder and more miserable.

@Archie_B it's been 24 hours and no response after you said you'd be monitoring the thread?  You cannot provide one small example of a user submitted improvement on the portal that got enacted? 

At some point you just have to realize you/your team are full of sht.  Stop pretending to be helpful, it makes it worse.
