P&L report

Hi friends, 

       I am having trouble problem solving my P&L reports. I have always used the same memorized reports and within the last year my reports have no longer been accurate. I am trying to run P&L YTD comparison to the years Budget. However, when I pull it up it adds extra line items and amounts that are not in this current budget nor have been used this year. I have even tried starting from scratch and creating new reports but they remain inaccurate. Anybody know what could be going wrong?

Hello there, elimbookkeeper. It's sounds unusual behavior.

 

Is your QuickBooks up-to-date? If not yet, please follow the steps below. This helps to always have the latest features and fixes. Here's how:

 

  1. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop from the Help menu.
  2. Select the Update Now option. To remove all past update downloads, select the Reset Update checkbox.
  3. To begin the download, select Get Updates.
  4. Restart QuickBooks after the download is complete.
  5. Accept the option to install the new release when requested.

 

If the problem persists, run the Verify/Rebuild Utility on the actual company. This built-in tool automatically fixes minor company file data issues.

 

  1. Go to the File menu then pick Utilities from the list.
  2. Select the Verify Data. tool then wait until the diagnosis is done.
  3. If there are issues, proceed to rebuilding the company file.
  4. Tap File menu then hover over Utilities.
  5. Pick Rebuild Data then click OK.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.
