Hello Zubairuddin Mohammed!

I'll be happy to share information about deleted (inactivated) inventory items.

Making an inventory item inactive doesn't remove the transactions under it. You'll want to make the item active gain. Then, run an item report to see the transactions under it and open each of them so you can delete them. Open the transaction, click More and choose Delete.

To see the list of inactive items, go to your Products and Services list, click the Funnel icon in the upper left of the table, and filter the inactive items.

Feel free to reach out if you need more help.

I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team, Zubairuddin Mohammed.

This way, they'll be able to further investigate the main cause of why the deleted inventory balance is showing in the Balance Sheet as the inventory starting value.

Since we’ve improved the process of reaching out to our support in QuickBooks Online, you can reach one of our agents by going to the Help menu.

Here are the complete steps:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Talk to a human.
  3. Type in your concern in the Type something field.
  4. Click the send icon.
  5. Choose I still need a human.
  6. Click Contact Us.
  7. Select the Send a message button.
  8. Enter the necessary details, then click Continue.

I'm also adding this article to help you learn more about tracking inventory in QuickBooks Online: Set up and Track your Inventory.

Just in case you want to change the product and service item types, here's an article that you can read for detailed information: Change Product and Service Item Types in QuickBooks Online.
