Pulling a Report from Sales on Customers Running Total

Hello,

im looking to pull a report for each customer in QuickBooks with their running total. I can only seem to find an option to pull the total balance, but I need that second total at the very bottom of the customers account, the 7th column total.

Pulling a Report from Sales on Customers Running Total

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, @rmattos. I'm here to guide you in pulling up a report that shows the total sales by customer in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, you can generate the Transaction List by Customer report to display all activity and sales associated with each customer. To do that:

  1. Go to Reports and search for Transaction List by Customer.
  2. Set the Report period and click Run report.
  3. If you want to hide the breakdown and show only the total amount, click the small arrow beside the customer's name.

For additional reference, I'm adding some articles on how you can filter out the data from your reports and save its customization settings for future use:

Thank you so much @JaeAnnC  for your assistance. but what i actually need is the total of all of the transactions done for the customer. When you open the customer's account on Sales, it shows 2 totals at the bottom, I need that second total as well, under the 7th column, if that makes sense

Thanks for coming back. Let me share some information about customizing the report the Transaction List by Customer report, rmattos.

I understand how important it is for your company to have a second Total column for the report as shown when opening the customer's account on Sales. However, this option is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). We see consumer feedback as an opportunity to improve the numerous features of our products. I'd recommend giving our engineers direct feedback. They may look into this suggestion and incorporate it into future updates. Let me demonstrate:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Hit Feedback.
  3. Type in your recommendation in the Share your feedback field.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

I've attached screenshots below for your reference:

Furthermore, you can visit his page to stay up to date on the latest software improvements and enhancements with QBO: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online. Alternatively, we can export the report to Excel to come up with the data you need. At the top of the report, click the Export icon. Then select Export to Excel. Once done, save the file somewhere you can easily find, like your Downloads folder or your desktop. If you’re missing data when you open the report in Excel, the files are in protected view. In Excel, you’ll need to select Enable Editing to view the full report.

If you need data that isn’t found in basic reports, just create custom reports to get the data that matters to you most. For future reference, you can read this article and learn how to memorize reports in QuickBooks Online: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.
