I am trying to learn QBAR.
I learn best when I can review a completed report.
Does anyone have any reports dealing with the transactions table that I can import?
Thanks,
Steve
Hi @Steve.
I’m happy to share some starter reports you can use in QuickBooks Advanced Reporting.
To explore the available reports, please go to this link to download them: https://qbar.intuit.com/templates.html. Then, customize it to fit your needs.
Once you've downloaded a starter report, open Advanced Reporting and click Report List. Then click Import and open the saved starter report.
Moreover, for more information on how to use QBAR, you can check this article: Install and use QuickBooks Advanced Reporting.
Additionally, I'll include this article to see what features are available in QBAR: QuickBooks Advanced Reporting (QBAR) FAQ.
Let us know if you have further questions about managing QBAR, I'll be right here to help you.
I have reviewed a couple of those reports, they are mostly revolving around sales. I was looking for reports that had something to do with the class field. Our company uses the class field to separate its expenses and revenue. I was able to modify a report called "expenses by job code" to "expenses by class code". I was hoping there was some kind of library containing starter reports or users that were willing to share so I don't have to reinvent the wheel.
Thanks,
Steve
I appreciate your effort in sharing your experience with modifying a report and highlighting the importance of utilizing the class field to differentiate expenses and revenue within your company, SteveDescharme. Your approach to customizing reports to meet your specific needs is also commendable.
In QuickBooks Desktop's Report Center, you have a variety of options to explore standard and customized reports that align with your requirements. You can browse through the Standard reports or navigate to the Contributed tab to discover reports customized by other users, complete with ratings. Additionally, you can utilize the search field for a more targeted search to find the reports you need without starting from scratch. This can help you leverage existing resources and save time on report creation.
In addition, the starter reports for QuickBooks Advanced Reporting that you see in the link that my colleague above provided are the only ones that are accessible and downloadable.
Also, since you've posted your concern here in the Community forum, you can expect other users to check and provide additional starter reports that will tailor to your business needs.
To learn how you can create, access, and modify reports in QuickBooks Desktop, you can check out this article: Create, access and modify memorized reports.
If you need further guidance or assistance in finding specific reports, feel free to reach out. I'll be here to help.
I am aware of the Report Center. That is not what this message is about. I want to learn more about QUICKBOOKS ADVANCED REPORTING! I have been to the websites that have been recommended. The programs have more to do with sales, we don't use the sales portion. I am interested in learning how to use QBAR not find one of your partners and pay through the nose. There has to be more starter reports out there than just the few I have seen.
We're grateful for your interest in exploring the QBAR, Steve. Let me clarify the readily available reports you can use.
Learning more about QBAR with classes is interesting. However, we only have the starter reports you've seen on the website. As the accessible ones are more on sales, I recognize how beneficial it would be to have extra reporting options for you.
Since you have already raised your concern about advanced reporting in the Community, other users can view your post and offer further starter reports tailored precisely to your business needs.
You can refer to the QuickBooks Advanced Reporting User Guide for additional resources.
