How can my vendors see quantity on Purchase Order's? My vendors can't see quantities of items I'm requesting unless I type it into the description box.

Currently, formatting of the Purchase Order (like adding Quantity) comes directly from the "Master" Sales Form Type Template, regardless of whichever template name you have set as default. Unfortunately, there is no separate way to customize purchase orders further with different content, layout and style options.
If you need to see Qty on PO, you will need to make sure that the quantity column is selected in your Custom Form Styles settings.
Here's how you can check it:
(NOTE: SKU column is enabled only for "Airy" template. But it's for internal view only, not available to print the form or send an email).

Hi,
I am using qp online and can't seem to get the PO to list quantity. I have tried changing the master template and it still won't show up. Any other suggestions?
Also I am trying to change the currency from CAD to USD.
thanks
Hey there, Benny.
I'd be happy to help you with showing the quantity on your template and get your currency changed from CAD to USD.
Performance issues in QuickBooks are resolved by doing basic troubleshooting steps. Let's start by opening a private browser to start a new session.
Here's how to open a private window in different browsers:
If you're able to change the currency and the quantity is now showing on your template using the private browser, let's go back to your regular browser and clear its cache.

Please get back to me if you continue to get the same results so I can look further into this. Have a nice day.
That only adds the QTY column to the INVOICE not the Purchase order.
Thanks for joining this thread, @DAG001.
There's only a default Purchase Order template in QBO. There isn't an option to add the Quantity column for now. Another way to do this task is by using and integrating a 3rd party app.
Approved and supported applications for QBO are found on our App Center. Since each businesses needs are different, we don't recommend or advertise any application to our users. You can scan through the app list to select the appropriate one for the size and needs of your business.
If there's anything else you need or you have other QBO questions or concerns, just leave a comment below. I'll be here for you.
Here in 2024 and having the same issue.
Kind of insane if you ask me. If I am a supplier and I receive a PO for goods its kinda sorta helpful to know HOW MANY are being ordered! Come on QB... Get it together.
Came over to QBO from QBD thinking it would have the same functionality. Nope. QBD is far and away more customizable.
Hello, @SC1523. I understand the challenges of not having complete information on the purchase orders you receive. I'm here to provide some insights.
Currently, the program does not include the quantity when receiving a purchase order. I highly recommend sending direct feedback to our product engineer to add this feature to the program. They handle requests and analyze them for future updates.
To send your request:
As a workaround, please open the attached PDF file in the message to view the quantity of their orders.
Additionally, you can also run a report to see your sales and inventory status.
Let me know if you need further assistance with your purchase order in QuickBooks Online. I'm always here to help. Have a great day!
