Quick books chart of accounts made checking account 0.00

QuickBooks changed my checking account to 0.00.  When you click into the account it shows 5 plus grand like it should be but balance on the main screen view is 0.00..  Chart of accounts shows 0.00 until you drill into it and then it show 5 plus grand.  I was entering bills and it all of a sudden showed a routing error and then it changed EVERYTHING.  I don’t have on line banking set up nor do I connect on line to QuickBooks to reconcile.   All this is turned off.  I've run QuickBooks for 15 years because the original programs were brilliant and gave the end user total control.   Honestly it was like turning on your vacuum.  It always worked, it was FAST and it did a great job.   Did Intuit just hire some Numb nuts from Microsoft that have never worked a day in the real world that are making program changes based on their "feelings" and than they are force feeding them to me..?...   If so I'm done with QuickBooks and I will no longer be recommending it to my clients.

I want to ensure this is taken care of, @coreyi.

Usually, this error occurs when your data is damaged or corrupted. We can run the Verify/Rebuild tool utility to detect the data damage.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, then hover over Utilities.
  2. Select Rebuild Data.
  3. On the QuickBooks Information window, select OK. Follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.
  4. Let the tool repair your file. It may take some time. QuickBooks may seem stuck, but as long as you can move your mouse, the tool is working.
  5. When the tool finishes, select OK.
  6. Go to the File menu, and then hover over Utilities.
  7. Select Verify Data.
  8. Let the tool check your file for data issues.

If QuickBooks doesn't find any problems, select OK. However, if QuickBooks finds an issue with your company file, click Rebuild Now.

Also, make sure Quickbooks has its latest release. This is to ensure that everything is up to date.
