I know, I don't know why they hire people who aren't familiar with the software. How can you help anyone if you don't even know how to use it??!
Kbrooks2023 I can help you!
kbrooks2023 please see my response on how to email bill payment stubs. I don't work for QB but clearly I should because they have no idea what they are talking about!!
I'm done! After getting my last bill for QB I'm going back in time.
I have a nice 6 year old computer that was hardly used that I'll setup disconnected from the Internet. I'm going to install QB 2014 and an old version of Acrobat. I'll be disconnecting QB from Intuit and do everything manually. I only have 50-60 transactions per month and with the amount of headaches the Bank feeds cause the extra time will be minimal. I'll print to Adobe PDFs to a USB stick and then email from my main computer.
I'll be up and running on 1/1/2024.
FU Intuit!
Hi- you dont happen to know if any current changes have been made to revising the bill payment template do you?
Hi, @larskyler78.
Good to see you here. I've come to share details about customizing the bill payment stub template in QuickBooks Desktop.
With QBDT, you're able to do basic customization for the bill payment stubs form templates. However, for the time being, you're unable to have Additional Customization or Layout Designer to make extra changes to it.
As a way around this, you can print (from the File menu's Print Forms option) it to view the list of all the bills you've paid.
Here's how:
Also, QBDT offers a wide variety of ready-made vendor reports that tell you where your company stands, in terms of expenses and accounts payable. to know more about these reports, you can check out this article: Customize vendor reports.
Please don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have other concerns about bill payment paystubs and managing your vendor transactions in QBDT. I'll gladly help.
What are you even talking about? That isn't what they even asked. Good grief!!! Are these autobots that are responding or what?
Hello there, DawnB25.
I've already updated my answer, try to check the thread once again.
Just add the details of your concern in this thread so I can help you out. Take care and have a great day!
The "way around this" makes no sense. We're telling you we need to be able to customize the bill pay template in layout designer because the spaces are too small and cut off important information. Printing them isn't a way around. It makes zero sense to even suggest that.
None. They literally do not care nor get it.
HOWEVER, one thing that helped me is you can edit the template to have a smaller font in the "Data" field.
It is not a fix, but at least people can read what invoice numbers I am trying to pay for now.

UPDATE: This QB forum is worthless and there is no help they are going to give. There have been so many updates now where they could have simply offered the old template and they haven't.

That's the problem. I can't even edit the font. I can't change anything at all.
theamconveyrs,
What version of desktop are you using? If you to go lists, templates and then right click on bill payment and click edit, do you see a font option?
QB Enterprise MFG - you can not edit any text in the columns other than the label. You can not customize the form any more either.
We understand the importance of customizing your bill payment stubs to meet your specific requirements, @theamconveyors. Allow me to share some insight about the feature.
Currently, the option to edit or make any customizations to the bill payments is unavailable. We understand that customization options can be beneficial for branding purposes or personal preferences. While we are unable to make changes to the payment stubs, we are constantly working on improving our services and appreciate your input.
If there are any specific changes or improvements you would like to suggest, I'd highly suggest letting our product developers know about your request by sending feedback. I'll show you how.
See this article with the topics you can use while recording the common vendor transactions: The Vendor Transaction Workflows in QuickBooks Desktop.
In keeping with this, QBDT offers a wide variety of ready-made vendor reports that tell you where your company stands in terms of expenses and accounts payable. to know more about these reports, you can check out this article: Customize vendor reports.
Keep me posted if you have other concerns about customizing bill payment stubs and form templates in QBDT. Please don't hesitate to drop a comment below, and I'll gladly help. Take care and stay safe.
I have done all of these things MULTIPLE TIMES. I even spent 2 hours on the phone with a representative. Just change it back already! Ready the thread! Every QB customer is outraged that this changed. It worked, the we updated to '22, now it doesn't. FIX IT
Hmm, that's weird because I use Enterprise as well, Enterprise 22...I can only edit the font and the text size, not the columns. However, I just changed the font to 36 from 9 and then tested it out and it literally changed nothing....so, cool. Another feather that actually doesn't work.
I don't understand why it takes an act of congress to just allow the layout designer on the bill payment stub like all of the other templates. It's should be such an easy thing to do! It's been years that we have been asking for it. This isn't that hard.
Dawn - we jumped from '17 to '22 and i hate it.
That changes all the label fonts. I have tried that as well. I don't want my other info at a 6 pt font.
Thank you for that though. It may help others!!
Dawn,
As I've said before, QB DOES NOT CARE what we think, nor do they care what we want. What we want is in direct contradiction to their desired revenue stream vis a vis their custom envelopes which they want us to buy.
(There is a certain delicious irony in this...since the QB codeheads sitting in their Silicon Valley cubicles probably sit around dreaming about 'sticking it to the man' not realizing that they embody the man that needs to be stuck...)
AbegailS,
"Send Feedback" is worthless. Intuit is worthless. Intuit does not understand the importance of any functionality that the users request. Your product cannot handle 4K monitors. It is slow and a resource hog. We can't customize bill payment stubs. This feature is so pathetically simple you should be embarrassed. We're talking 1990's functionality. How about the icon bar? Why can't we customize it? We can, but only a few ways Intuit allows us. Why can't a put a shortcut to a specific report in the bar? Why can't I put a saved ""Find" result? Why do es
I have submitted all of these requests multiple times, and nothing. How does Intuit respond? 750% price increases over the last few years. You will not get another dime from me.
Intuit's coders should barred from ever typing another snippet of code again. If I'm ever hiring a programmer and they worked for Intuit their resume goes in the trash.
I highly recommend you find a new job.
