Buy nowHello, I use Projects very heavily... however, I was using Classes incorrectly and need to update the past 5 years...
I would like to reclassify but for some reason, when I filter with customer/vendor, none of my expenses that i have categorized as labor or material are showing up. I ONLY see Journal entries, deposits, etc. If i remove the customer/vendor filter, they all show up.
I need to reclassify batches based on the customer/vendor, so I NEED this to work...
why is this happening?
HELP!!!
Sometimes, a combination of filters can inadvertently limit the view of available data, @APHInvestments. We can refresh the program to help restore those transactions, allowing you to successfully reclassify them. I’d be glad to guide you through this process and share additional fixes.
You can do this by clicking the Refresh icon next to the URL field. Then, please reapply the same filters and ensure you set the correct date range before clicking the Find transactions button.
Alternatively, we can open an incognito window in your browser to access the product with a clean slate. Depending on your browser, you can use the following shortcuts:
If your expense transactions appear, please return to your regular browser and clear the cache for a fresh start. Additionally, switching to other supported browsers could also be worth a shot.
QuickBooks Online allows you to create rules to automatically categorize downloaded bank transactions to help speed up your review process. If you wish to know more about this process, check out this article: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Thank you, however, i just tried your recommendation and unfortunately it didn't work. If i only filter by a certain class, items will show up, but as soon as i filter with customer/vendor filter is when it shows ZERO results...
Basically, if I ONLY filter using a date range and customer, it will not show me all the transactions in all the classes that are associated with the customer...
Thank you for following the troubleshooting steps recommended by my colleague, APHInvestments. Allow me to provide additional details.
All recorded transactions for a specific class and customer/vendor must be visible. To ensure that all relevant transactions appear in QuickBooks Online, make sure to set the appropriate date range that encompasses all transactions. Additionally, verify that each transaction is correctly associated with the relevant customer/vendor and properly classified.
Since you mentioned you want to reclassify transactions from five years ago, we need to specify the start date from five years back to the most recent transactions to ensure all relevant transactions are included.
Here's an example picture below:
Moreover, to assist you further, I am providing this resource on how to use the reclassify transactions tool for batch editing transactions: Reclassify or move multiple transactions in QuickBooks Online Accountant and Advanced.

Yes, i have date range inputted.
If i search by date range and specific class - items classified in that class show up. and each of those transactions have a customer/vendor associated. But as soon as i select a customer/vendor filter, then all transactions disappear and shows ZERO results, even though I just saw them listed without specifying the customer/vendor. if i go into the transaction, it shows both the class and customer i had tried to filter by... its definitely a glitch.
I appreciate your efforts in following the recommendations provided by my colleagues above, APHInvestments. Let me route you to the appropriate support team to help you further in viewing all the transactions associated with a specific date range, class, and customer/vendor.
Since you've already performed basic troubleshooting steps and set the correct date range for the data but still cannot view all the transactions, I recommend contacting our Live Support Team during their available hours.
