Join nowI run a one-person law office, and I'm trialing QBO Plus. I'm looking for a report that will show, by client, how much the client has paid me.
I can find a report that shows invoices and amounts outstanding, but then I have to do the arithmetic (Amount of Invoice minus Amount Outstanding). But isn't there a simple report to show how much each has paid?
Thanks.

Hi there, @KJIsaacson.
Thanks for getting back to us and for sharing some additional information about your concern.
You can run the Transaction List by Customer report instead. Then, all you need to do is to customize it, so the amounts paid by your clients/customers will show.
Here's how to pull it up:
From there, you can see all the payments you've received from your clients/customers.

Hello @KJIsaacson,
In QuickBooks Online, you can pull up one of your sales reports to let your client review your income transactions. I'll be happy to help you accomplish this.
In the same manner, here's a couple of articles you can read to learn more about how you can customize a report: Customize Reports in QuickBooks Online.
On top of that, I've also included this reference helpful with the steps needed to identify how stable is your business's financial status: Create and Manage Reports in QuickBooks Online.

Thanks, but as my original post said, this doesn't show "amount paid." It shows the amount of the invoice, and the open balance, requiring a calculation to arrive at amount paid. Admittedly not a "heavy lifting" arithmetical calculation, but it does require an extra step, and the desired info is not pictured. I would have to create a document that shows the results after I've done the calc. There's no way to simply generate a report of "This is how much each client has paid me"?
But this report shows the original amount of the invoice and the balance due. In order to get the amount paid, there's a calculation involved. Granted it's not a complicated calculation (Amount of Invoice minus Balance Due), but it's an extra step, and the report doesn't present the desired info. I'd have to create a new, separate document, after calculating, to present what I want to see. Isn't there a report that simply shows "This is the amount each client paid me"? Thanks.
APOLOGIES IF THIS IS POSTED MORE THAN ONCE. NO INDICATION THAT PREVIOUS ATTEMPT WAS SUCCESSFUL.

Perfect. That appears to do it. Many thanks.
Searching for Transaction List by Customer in the Reports section, nothing happens.
Scrolling thru the list of reports, there is no report called Transaction List by Customer.
This is the case for all 3 sections, Standard, Custom, and Management reports.
Please advise, thanks.
I'm here to elaborate on some details about this report, PromisedLand.
The Transaction List by Customer report is only available in the Essentials and Plus versions. If you're using the Simple Start subscription, you can run the Sales by Customer Summary report instead. Here's how:

This is great but I don't get a total. It's just a list of payments. How do I get a total?
Hi there, @TALD1.
I'm here to help share insights about your transaction report in QuickBooks Online.
As of the moment, there isn't an integrated way to display the total amount of transactions when generating a Transaction List by Customer report. For now, let's consider exporting the said report to a new Excel file and customizing it to display the total amount of your transactions.
