Setting up email receipt forwarding. Gmail requires the recipient address to verify with a confirmation code. Gmail has sent that, will quickbooks provide this to me?

Email was sent to my address at @qbodocs.com, so I have no way to access this email.

Hi there, @myfavoritehandym.

I can see the convenience of getting the authorization of your QuickBooks email to your Gmail.

The code Gmail has sent will not be seen because it's only within the system. It's the same if you're using the auto-forwarding setup in Gmail. I'd recommend uploading your receipts from your computer to your QuickBooks Online.

To know more about this feature, you can check out this article: Email receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

I've added this article that you may use on your future tasks about personalizing your sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online. This way, you'll be able to show through design or layout what your business offers.

I'll be here if you have other concerns or questions. Just let me know in the comment section below. Take care.

Automation is the key to efficiency.  It is extremely important to be automate as much as possible.

If I had had known I wouldn't be able to use this feature, I would have used a differen email.

I tried changing my email address for my account but that didn't seem to work.

So, then I went to manage sender emails.  I turned off my gmail account and then tried adding my hotmail account.

I then received an email on my hotmail account saying I had been invited as an accountant, and I tried logging in with that email, but seemed to be an issue.  So, I tried resetting my password, but the only option it gave was recover your account a longer way.  I clicked that option and nothing.

Hello there, @myfavoritehandym.

I can see the importance of using a personalized email for your receipts in QuickBooks.

The receipt feature's default email from QuickBooks is not related to your Intuit Account. You can change your email log-in in your Intuit Account Sign-in and Security. I can show you how.

  1. Go to this link: https://accounts.intuit.com/index.html.
  2. On the left pane, select the Sign in and Security menu.
  3. Click on the Email address section.
  4. Enter your new email address, then confirm it by entering your password.
  5. Select Save. This is how it looks like:

I've included this article to know more details about this process: Change the email address you use to sign in.

Also, you don't need to add yourself as an Accountant if your the Master Admin user of your company. For more information on how to handle your company users, you may check out this article: User types and user permissions in QuickBooks Online.

You may consider visiting our QuickBooks Videos to learn more about the features available in this program: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/

Please know that you're always welcome to tag my name in the comment section if you need further assistance. Have a good day.

Setting up email receipt forwarding. Gmail requires the recipient address to verify with a confirmation code. Gmail has sent that, will quickbooks provide this to me?

I have a similar question:

We use receipt forwarding from our company's gmail address to our designated QBO address.
I would like to set up certain email receipts to auto-forward from our gmail account to our QBO address. (This eliminates the need for me to manually forward it.) Then internally I can set that same email to archive.

This way, all my recurring receipts are forwarded to QBO and I never have to touch them. Ahhhh. That would be lovely. The issue (as mentioned by the other user) is that Gmail requires a verification code from the email the receipt is being forwarded to. (Understandably so as they don't want to enable spamming.)

How do I get the verification code for this?

Thank you!

P.S. If this is not a current possibility, this is absolutely something your feature request team should be working on. As the previous user mentioned, automation is the future and this one is just too easy.

Thanks for posting here and sharing your questions about receipts forwarding, @MrsLydia,

To share more insights about this, we're currently unable to set CC emails for receipts. Also, the default QuickBooks email for receipts forwarding is system generated. Hence, we're not able to receive any code from other email providers since it doesn't have an inbox.

For now, you can manually upload the receipts in QuickBooks Online. Do it using the Upload from computer option in the Receipts tab.

Our developers are working internally when it comes to projects and product enhancements. Don't worry, if there are new updates with our products, it will be communicated through in-product ads. Hi All

I think I've found the solution, at least if you use google workspace like me.

You need to go to your google workspace admin console. Once there, go to Apps-> Google Workspace->Gmail->Default routing. From here you should have the option to add a rule, see picture.

What I have done is I've made it so that every email tagged with "Qbo receipt" gets send to my qbodocs.com address.

When adding a rule, make your rule look like mine in the pictures below. Here is the code I used for pattern recognition.

(\W|^)(QBO receipt|qbo receipt|Qbo receipt)(\W|$)

Be advised, this is case sensitive so make sure you and your team know that. If you want to add/replace tag phrases for pattern recognition, simply modify the underlined text and add your phrases (in the proper case) between the brackets, separating phrases with a |

Hi,

we have found a solution for this. Certain coding needs to be changed in the google account back-end, so you should be technically quite strong to do it alone. But, if you still have trouble with this, we will be happy to help you to change the coding and set up forwarding in a 15min free consultation. Feel free to contact us Get in touch - Switch (switchoperations.com)

Cheers!

Thank you for joining this Community thread, Tcobbins. Let me guide you in sending feedback in QuickBooks Online.

I recognize the importance of having the option to receive a confirmation code through the default email for receipts in QuickBooks Online. I recommend sending feedback directly inside QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then select Next to submit feedback.

Our Product Development Team will receive and review your suggestion along with the other user requests. You can also track them directly through this link: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.

You can also visit our Help Page for more related topics and helpful articles to manage your business.

Let me know if you have other concerns or need help with anything. I'll be here to assist. Keep safe!

Hi and thanks or sharing this. I too am a google workspace user. Can you give more detail about the routing settings? I don't see a photo attached to your post. Thanks in advance!

@WGYC , I am trying to solve this problem as well and I am amazed that this has note been resolved between Google and Intuit QuickBooks. Your response looks promising (I have not tried it yet). It also mentions pictures, which I do not see in your response. Is it possible to get your assistance on this?
