I'll provide information about snaping a receipt or receipt forwarding in QuickBooks Self Employed and how it works.
Once the QBSE system detects the same transaction from your downloaded receipt, it automatically categorizes the entry and pulling information. Otherwise, once the receipt you've uploaded does not have similar transactions in your QBSE account, you'll be able to see an error that Needs action and you'll have to manually categorize the entry to sort this.
Here's how:

I appreciate the reply, but I wasn't actually asking about how to snap receipts, or enter data when needed. I've been using the feature for a long time. My problem is that every receipt I snap results in me having to manually enter the data. The algorithm doesn't appear to be functioning for me at this time.
I've already cleared all the app data from my phone, and uninstalled/installed the app. I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue.
