Someone scammed me how do I cancel a batched payment

I recognize the importance of being able to cancel the batched QuickBooks payment, @jayohouse.

Let me give you some tips about canceling the payment.

You can void the batched payment by logging in to your QuickBooks Payments account. The date, amount, and last four digits of the customer's credit card number are the quickest ways to find a transaction.

Please note also that every business day, at 3:00 p.m. PT, payment transactions are batch-processed. You can void a payment transaction if it hasn't yet been batched. Here's where you can learn more about processing times. You will avoid a fee if you can cancel the transaction before the money is processed.

Here's how to void the payment:

  1. Login to your QuickBooks Payments account.
  2. In the Activity & Reports drop-down, choose Transactions.
  3. Type in the date range and hit Search.
  4. Choose the Transaction ID or the transaction you want to reverse.
  5. Hit Reverse (Void/Credit).
  6. Tick the checkbox for the desired transaction, then Submit.

If you'll have any issues or if you can't void the payment at all, I suggest you contact Merchant Services Center so they can investigate it and give you the best resolution to your concern. Also, avoid refunding the transaction.

Feel free to check out these guides for more details about voiding a transaction:

I didn't pay them. They paid me - 5 different CC transactions all denied due to invalid card # (they tried 5 cards) and then settled for an e check that is currently marked as pending.

Thank you for your helpful response. They paid the invoice at 2:56pm so by 5 pm when I called their venue to see if they were real people and actually had their date book (I am a wedding photographer) The venue owner said I was the 3rd or 4th person to call, and that I was scammed. Unfortunately for me, the payment is already batched. They tried to pay with FIVE different CC (all declined) then settled for an E check with a place that doesn't even exist as the name on the check (it was a business account) - I am HOPING that the payment is declined due to funds, or that the account doesn't exist... but it says when payments are batched it can take up to 5 days? As soon as I was able I tried to reverse the amount of money they paid - but it isn't working since it has already been batched. I tried calling QB but they were zero help and gave me the go around to 7 different people, transferring me, then telling me to call direct payment line (one number I was given doesn't exists) and then it just directs me to the QB customer service number. Literally tried to call 7 different times and was left with a dead end then eventually that they were closed for the day.

I appreciate the time you've spent in reaching out to us, olivegamestudio.

As much I'd love to help you in canceling those payments, the ability to pull up your account is done by our Payments Support Team. This way, we'll be able to protect your information.

Since the transactions are already batched or processed, I'd still recommend contacting our supports again so they can reverse or cancel the payments for you. You can connect with us through this link: Contact Payments or Point of Sale Support.

In addition, I've included an article that will help you in managing your customer payments: Take and process payments with QuickBooks Payments.

Keep me posted if you have any other concerns or further questions. I'll always shave your back.
