I have some details about the app. I'll also lay down a solution to help you create the statements in QuickBooks.
We discontinued the Windows and Mac app last April 20th 2021. Since we no longer support it, there's bound to be issues such as error messages and crashing while using it (due to lack of updates and bug fixes).
More details about the discontinuation can be found here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/online/apps/.
Though you can still use the app and its features. You can try resetting the data to resolve the issues. Go to the Help menu, then select Reset App Data.
If you're still encountering the issues, you'll want to use a supported browser to send your customer statements.
