Under Sales/Customers/Batch actions Why is the Make Inactive action grayed out on some customers?

I can share some troubleshooting steps so that you can get back to work, @dsnider.

I've replicate in my end and its working fine. To isolate this case, let's perform some troubleshooting steps.

When we use the browser, we may run into trouble with the browser's cache. Occasionally your browser will load your cached info instead of updated portions of the page that you are desiring to view. This can cause a slowdown,  error, or unusual behaviors in QuickBooks.

We can start by accessing your account in a private browser. This mode doesn't save your searches, visited pages, log in details, and cookies.

Here's are the shortcut keys:

  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Internet Explorer or Firefox)
  • Command + Shift + N (Safari)
  • Ctrl+ Shift + N (Google Chrome)

Then, let's go to the Batch actions to check if the Make inactive is working well. If everything looks fine, go back to your regular browser and perform a clear cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with clean trash. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.

That's it. That should get you on the right track. I'm here to provide any additional assistance if needed. Have a good one!
