Unsold items report - Can QB Enterprise do this?

I am trying to find a report that can tell me items that are going stale, or not selling.

I have 20k items, and I can not easily search by items.

I want to run a report where it shows me items that have not sold in X days or more.  I'd like to consider 90 days to start and see what's been sitting idle on my shelf for 90 days or more.

Anyone have any input on how to pull this off?

Thanks

Thanks for reaching out to the Community space, @dday-fts.

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can run the Inventory Valuation Detail Report that shows you the latest transaction that uses the product. It also lists the transactions that affected the value of your inventory during a particular period.

To pull up the report, here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu at the top.
  2. Select Inventory.
  3. Choose the Inventory Valuation Detail Report.
  4. Click the Customize Report menu to tailor the information.
  5. Navigate to the On Hand column to check for the items available for each product.

For more information about customizing your report, you can refer to this link: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Unsold items report - Can QB Enterprise do this?

@MirriamM

Thank you for the input, but this is not really what I am looking for.

I have 19,000 items in inventory.

I want to know what items are not selling.  (So I can motivate my sales team to focus on these 'stale items' or return goods to manufacturer within my return windows).

The report you have noted shows items that 'have' sold.  I need the opposite.  Do you know if this is possible?  It's impossible for me to take a report that shows items that have sold, and try and cross-reference the 19,000 items I have, and find items that are not selling.

In short, I can use the following data:

1: A report that shows last sell date of item

2: A report that shows items 'not sold in 90 days'

Are either of my options noted above available in QB?

Thanks

Unsold items report - Can QB Enterprise do this?

Hello again, dday-fts.. Thanks for getting back and providing additional information.

On the first report that you need, you can run the Sales by Item Detail report. It will show the sell date of the item. To run the report, here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu at the top.
  2. Select Sales and choose Sales by Item Detail.
  3. Set the Date range.
  4. Click Refresh.

From there, you can check the Date column to see the sell date.

As for your other concern, you may need to run multiple reports and cross match to have the information you need. You can pull up the Inventory Valuation Detail and Sales by Item Detail report.
