Hello there, @tina-segal-dss-s.

You'll want to consider deleting and recreating the transactions to correct them. I understand that this is a lot of work, however, the option to change credit card credits transactions to expenses isn't available in QuickBooks.

First off, let's find and delete your credit card credit entries. Here's how:

  1. Click Expenses from the left menu.
  2. Select the Filter drop-down, then choose the date when the credit card credit entries are created.
  3. Hit Apply.
  4. Select and open the credit card credits.
  5. In the Credit Card Credit window, click More at the middle bottom.
  6. Click Delete and Yes to confirm.
  7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 for the rest of the transactions.

Then, you can now create expense transactions for your credit card entries. For more guidance, feel free to check out this article: Enter, edit, or delete expenses in QuickBooks Online.

Just in case you want to view each of your vendor's transactions, you can read this article for the detailed steps and information: View vendor transactions.

Keep in touch if you need any more assistance with this, or there's something else I can do for you. I've got your back. Have a good day.

The template of CC Charges and CC Credits are same. Utilize the trial period of this 3rd party tool to export the CC Credits data, delete them, then import them as CC Charges data in bulk.

Why isn't it a feature on Quickbooks Online yet?

Hello there, nhonstead.

This isn't a feature in QuickBooks yet since it is not something customers usually use. QuickBooks always allow us to correct transactions by editing or deleting, and recreating them. This is how you can change and edit the transactions details correctly.

Still, I recommend following the suggestions shared above.

I'm also including our Help articles for related references in managing your account and transactions.

Feel free to comment below if you have other concerns with QuickBooks. Take care always.

This should DEFINITELY be a feature in quickbooks online.  I've just spent hours entering expenses as credit card credits instead, and now I have to go through and delete everything manually and re-enter?? I get that this is human error, and I should have been paying more attention, but the fact that there isn't a way to change a transaction type is pretty bogus. I'm finding plenty of users who have had the same issue as me, so please don't say that it's something that customers would rarely use

I understand the importance of changing credit card credit transactions to expenses, and we don't want you to have an experience like this, megan.

Currently, the option to change credit card credit transactions isn't available in QuickBooks Online (QBO). You'll want to consider deleting the incorrect transactions and recreating them accurately.

I can see how having this option would be helpful for you and your business. Rest assured that I'll pass along your suggestion to our Product Developers. They're always looking for ideas to consider on how to improve QBO.

Here are the steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Provide your product suggestion.
  3. Click on Next to submit feedback.

In the meantime, you can visit our Blog site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features.

Let me know in the comment section if you need more assistance managing your transactions in QBO, megan. I'm always here to help. Have a good one.
