Buy nowWhen I created my Quickbooks Online account, I had some business transactions from a personal bank account that I wanted to import into my QBO account. So, I connected that account and categorized all of the business transactions and excluded everything else. I then disconnected that account from my account.
When I go into Bank Transactions, I can only see the categorized transactions from my business banking account. The transactions I had imported from that personal bank account are nowhere to be found.
I know however, that QBO is still accounting for the transactions I am trying to find based on the P&L on my dashboard.
Does anyone know where these transactions live? Thanks in advance.
Hi there, Vicente.
We're happy to inform you that your categorized transactions from previously connected bank accounts are still available, and you can find them in your chart of accounts. If you're unfamiliar with what account it is in, you can click View Register to any Bank Account type.
Furthermore, you can still connect another account if your bank is previously connected to QuickBooks Online. Please check this article to learn how: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.
You can always reply to this message if you have further concerns besides finding categorized transactions from disconnected bank account in QuickBooks Online. I'd be happy to assist you anytime.
So, correct me if I'm wrong, re-connecting the account is the only way I can see the transactions again in order to edit them?
Just to be extra clear: I know that the transactions from the disconnected account are still being counted toward my P&L in QBO.
I appreciate your quick response, Vicente. There's no need to reconnect the account to see the categorized transactions again. However, if you're looking for transactions under For Review, they will be deleted from your bank transactions after you disconnect your bank.
You can find the categorized transactions in an account in the Chart of Accounts. Suppose you're unfamiliar with the account name the categorized transaction is into. In that case, you can always run a Transaction Detail report or manually view each bank account type by clicking View Register.
Furthermore, you can always connect another bank account again to QuickBooks Online. Please check this article to learn how: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.
Keep me updated if you have further clarification or questions about categorized transactions from disconnected bank account.
