"Why is the Balance column on Customer Statements left aligned? (Note: You cannot customize Customer Statement templates in QBO)."
This embarrassing Statement layout glitch was posted here on December 03, 2018. Today is June 03, 2019. That's 182 count days.
First of all, this non-customizable Customer Statement looks like designed by some high-school kid or cheap programmer.
Furthermore, it's obvious proof Intuit doesn't go through even simple software validation process.
How long will it take to fix this minor form alignment issue (if Intuit is caring about it)?
Most of the skilled programmers would probably say less than 48 hours.
Statement format BUG.
I was happy to find a post about the misaligned columns on the statement but then unhappy to see that it hasn't been resolved after all this time.
We don't want you to feel that way, TB_Michelle66.
We send the feedback to our engineers. The assigned engineers also depends on the number of affected users.
For now, you can run the Open Invoices report. This report will show the total for each customer's unpaid invoices and statement charges.
Here's how:
You can customize the report to filter which customer you want to view.
If any other concerns arise, please feel free to post any time.
Once again QB have completed missed the point!!
Once again QB have completed missed the point!!!
Hi MaryLurleenM,
I would like to respond to your remark "We send the feedback to our engineers. The assigned engineers also depends on the number of affected users." I have heard that before.
QuickBooks is an accounting program. When you are an accountant, your number columns are right aligned. Perhaps the following would be a solution. A text box on the statement that says "The left aligned balance column is a QuickBooks Online software defect that cannot be corrected." Would that be ok? I just don't want anyone to think it's me.
Hi, PJBooks,
I'm not an accountant or anywhere near being any kind of financial professional and the left alignment of the columns drives. me. crazy. Thank you for your diligence in keeping up with this issue. I wish I had found this thread earlier. If we weren't about to retire, I'd certainly check out another program as someone in the thread recommended. Best of luck to you and to others who are taking this on!
Any update on this thread? I just printed a statement and the balance column is still left aligned.
Thanks for joining this thread, CSH1.
I can certainly understand how an ability to customize where your Balance column's aligned on statements could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.
You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.
Here's how:
Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a great day!
Wow - someone should send this thread to "Guiness Book of Records"!! Accounting Software company can not do a simple software fix to correct misalignment on statements!! 3 YEARS AND COUNTING!!!
QB Desktop rules, Intuit blew it with QBO. Try and change my mind. Start with Right Justified numbers. Get real.
Yes, here we are in 2023 and the Customer Balance column on statements is still left aligned in QBO. Not only that, but statements are starting to disappear and created statements are no longer accessible from the Customer Register. The upcoming "New Experience" invoicing will not include include "Ship via, Shipping date, and Tracking no. fields, Adding a new invoice Term, Send Later option, Print Later option, Reference links displaying matched online transactions, Subtotals, Account summary, and Price Rules". (copied and pasted from Help:new layout:Features currently unavailable in the new experience). Please don't do this QBO.
Hello there,
Upon checking here at my end, the option to create a statement is still available with the new layout. Allow me to guide you:
However, if the option is still not there, you can perform basic troubleshooting steps to see if it is a browser issue. Sometimes, your search engine's cache and cookies become corrupted, causing problems when accessing websites or opening files. To begin, open your QBO account in an incognito window. It will prevent the browser history from being saved. Please refer to the following keyboard shortcuts based on your browser type:
If the private browsing session works, clear the browser's cache so the system can restart. This task is also possible in other supported, up-to-date browsers. Clearing the cache will reboot the system, allowing you to work with clearing stocked cache and cookies that is causing the issues.
Check this link for a guide in running, customizing, and saving reports: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
I would appreciate hearing any updates after you have completed the steps, as I want to make sure this resolves your concern. Please do not hesitate to contact us again. Have a fantastic day!
I tried it in a regular browser window and a private one. Still getting the balance column left aligned.
Hi TB_Michelle66,
I appreciate you for trying the steps shared by my colleague to determine why the customer's balance is aligned on the left.
At this time, I suggest reaching out to our phone experts so we can review the root cause of the issue. You can do so by clicking the ? Help icon. Here's how:
Also, there are three types of customer statements in QBO. It's the Balance forward, Open Item, and Transaction Statement. If you wish to know more about them, kindly check out this article: Create and send customer statements in QuickBooks Online.
Feel free to return to this thread if you have further concerns about QuickBooks or your customer statements. I'll be right here to you out.
