Join now2023 QBDT Pro: Running a report where selection is all income accounts only, and I want to run for a one month period.
#1 - The report seems to be printing all the GL accounts and not just the range of accounts I selected. All the accounts I didn't select are shown as zeroes, but I would prefer they didn't show up at all. How do I exclude accounts I didn't select?
#2 - For the accounts I did select, it is showing every transaction that occurred in the month. While I would like to be able to drill down into this detail, for my initial purposes I only wanted to see the monthly total for each account, not automatically the detail. I can't seem to find a place to "show only totals". What am I missing here?
Thanks in advance for help on this.

I appreciate your elaboration about filtering the general ledger report to display the accounts selected only, @Deadwood Al. I'm here to share a way to get the data you need conveniently.
Once you open the General Ledger report and filter it to multiple accounts (3000 -3200) accordingly, select the Advanced button on the Display window. It will open the Advanced Options window where you choose to Include In Use and Report Date under Open Balance/Aging.
I'm adding snippets below for reference:
For the subtotal, this feature is unavailable in the Columns and Filters. However, you can click the total balance of each account if you need to see the detailed transactions involved.

With this data, you should be able to generate a general ledger report according to the multiple accounts you selected. If you need more help in personalizing it, add the below. It'll be my pleasure to assist you further.
Hi there, Deadwood Al.
I'm here to help you with the report you'd like to pull in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), but I'd like to ask more questions about this.
May I know what specific report you're referring to? Is it a financial report? Any additional information or screenshot will help me provide the best resolution for your concern.
Just click the Reply button below to add more details.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Sorry, but this isn't QBO. The very first part of my message identified it as QBDT Pro 2023. I wouldn't expect that QBO reports would be the same or behave the same as desktop. Thanks anyway, though.
Hi again, Deadwood Al.
Thanks for pointing that out. I have since revised it to better address your specific concern.
If you still need assistance with the report, feel free to let me know in the comment below. Take care always.
It is a General Ledger report, with a filter of multiple accounts in the 3000 -3200 range, but I'm getting all the accounts, and with detail on each instead of just the account or sub-account total. I saw a message that said something about the default was to condense the listing and if I wanted to expand I should click on an option on the "report toolbar", and I have been unable to find anything on a "report toolbar".
