Good morning, Using the provided Sales By Ship to Report. Would like to filter it to include only one STATE. Is ShipToState available in the Filters tab?
thanks Tony
Hell there, @TonyG1.
You can pull up the Sales by Ship to Address report, and customize it to add the State column. Let me guide you how.
You can check this article about customizing the report: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop

Hmmm. NameState = Bill to State, not the Shipto State.
Since it is a ShipTo Report , we want to Filter on ShipTo State.
please advise.
thanks

Ok, The QB field name is "Ship To State" correct?
"Name State" is the billing state so why are you showing me that?
Please clarify.
thanks
Hi @TonyG1,
Thank you for your prompt reply, as well as the screenshot you provided earlier.
Although we can add the Ship To State as a column, the option to filter it isn't available at this time. I can see how this specific option can become handy to our users and with that, we've taken note of it. Meanwhile, I suggest you export the report to Excel and filter the Ship To State column from there.

so, we can't Filter by ShipTo State in the ShipTo State report ?
that doesn't seem logical to me. It should work in an expected way that a typical user would want to use your product.
Hi, TonyG1.
This will show if the format of the address is correctly entered in the customer's profile.
You might want to double-check the customers' addresses and try to filter the report again.

Did anyone ever find a way to do this? I am looking for the same report.
I'm here to make sure you can run a Sales by Ship to Address report, @Rachael2009.
You can do it by following these simple steps:
Learn how to customize the data, add or delete columns, add or remove information on the header/footer, and even personalize the font and style of the report. Refer to this article for the step-by-step process: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
If you have additional questions about running reports in QuickBooks desktop I'm just around ready to assist you.
I also need the Ship to Report to report all sales shipped to a particular state when I use the custom filter. The problem is that Name State (billing state) always drives what the report returns. The same thing for the Sales Tax Liability Reports. They only show the Name State (billing state) information for the report by state but do not follow the Ship to State which is what drives most sales tax liability by state. If I run the Sales by Ship to Address Report for last month (Dec 2020) and add the Ship To State to the columns, I am still not able to "filter" the report for ship to addresses for sales tax threshold calculations or to get a proper Sales Tax Liability report for the Ship to State. I can export to an Excel spreadsheet but that obviously defeats the purpose of the Sales Tax Liability report by state in Quickbooks.
Hello there, @lfreemanpureandclean.
The sales tax threshold calculation in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) will depend on the item you set up as well as the billing state information you've indicated. It isn't on the address zip code or customer's city. With this, let's go to the Item List page and update them if necessary. Here's how:
Once everything is all set pull up the appropriate report you want (i.e. Sales Tax Liability) from the Reports menu. This way, you're able to view the updated sales tax threshold calculations.
In the meantime, I'm adding this article about managing item details in QBDT: Add, edit, and delete items. It also includes answers to the most frequently asked questions about the said topic.
Additionally, you can also check out this article to further guide you in effectively monitoring your sales tax transactions in QBDT: Taxes Help Articles. It also contains topics about sales tax reports and set up to name a few.
Let me know if you have other concerns about reports and sales tax transactions in QuickBooks. I'm just around to help. Take care always.
Hello,
I would like to piggy-back onto this thread by asking where the "Sales By Ship To" report is located within Quickbooks Online? If I follow the below steps, I do not see this report. If I use the "Search" function, I cannot find this report. If I try to Customize a Standard report within the "Sales and customers" section, I'm unable to add a row/column called "Ship To" or even "Shipping To" (which is the actual field name used when creating new invoices).
1) Click Reports
2) Navigate to "Standard" Reports
3) Within "Sales and customers" the below reports are all I see available
a) Customer Contact List
b) Deposit Detail
c) Estimates & Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer
d) Estimates by Customer
e) Income by Customer Summary
f) Payment Method List
g) Product/Service List
h) Sales by Class Detail
i) Sales by Class Summary
j) Sales by Customer Detail
k) Sales by Customer Summary
l) Sales by Customer Type Detail
m) Sales by Location Detail
n) Sales by Location Summary
o) Sales by Product/Service Detail
p) Sales by Product/Service Summary
q) Time Activities by Customer Detail
r) Transaction List by Customer
s) Transaction List by Tag Group
Please advise.
Thanks,
JD
Thanks for joining in this conversation, @Davejon9. In QuickBooks Online, you can use the Transaction List by customer report. Then, customize it to show the shipping address. Here's how:

That worked! Thank you! Just one follow-up, the Transaction List by Customer report was not one of the "Standard" reports listed on the report page and needed to be searched for. How do I access all pre-existing reports available within QBs Online without posting a question to the support page?
Thanks!
JD
Hi there, Davejon9.
On behalf of my colleague, I'm glad the steps worked for you. Let me continue the help.
The Transaction List by Customer report is included as one of the Standard reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO). In fact, you can see it under the Sales and customers section in case you don't want to search it in the search field.
I've attached a sample screenshot for your reference:
Also, you can access all your pre-existing reports available within QBO through the help of these articles. This will help you know more about managing a wide range of reports in QBO without posting a question to the support page:

The only way I have been able to get a Sales by Ship To State Summary Report in QuickBooks Desktop (Enterprise) is to set up a Sales Tax Item for each state at use the Sale Tax Liability Report that will then give me a total by sales tax item which is the State.
One would think a Sale by Ship To State Summary Report is a commonly needed report by All and QuickBooks would have that as a standard report. To be accurate QuickBooks needs to make sure that the Ship To Address is set up properly and includes the Ship To State in the State field. It should caution the user if not set up properly.
Anyone else have a work around to get a Sale by Ship To State Summary Report?
I don't see that Report listed under Custom Reports in QBDT Enterprise. I only See Help me choose, summary, Transaction Detail, ODBC.

I can help you run the report your need, jrsytsma.
You can run the Sales by Ship To Address report. From there you can customize the columns and filter it to show States. I'll walk you through the whole process:

The report you suggested is by Ship To State by City NOT Ship To State. A Detailed Report that sorts by State by City is of little value especially when there is NO total by State.
Then there is the HUGE problem of QuickBooks allowing Ship To Addresses to be entered on the Invoice and even if they are entered in the EXACT address formation, QuickBooks DOES NOT register the Ship To State. The Ship To Address MUST be chosen from the ShipTo drop-down in order for QB to include it under the proper State total. If not, it displays it BLANK under the Ship To State even if the address entered perfectly correct on the invoice just not from the drop-down!!!! How CRAZY is that!!!! To REQUIRE EVERY SHIP TO to be set up under a customer's name IS NOT REASONABLE!! QuickBooks should then require proper address entry in the "address format box" on the Invoice/CM!!! Do not allow free flow of address entry. Garbage In, Garbage Out!!!
I need the same report. Sales by ship to address. Now I have to do a sales report by ship to state and create an excel worksheet and then use excel to get what I need, which is really time consuming when you are trying to get it for every state...doesn't seem like it would be so hard to incorporate this report in Quickbooks and would save a lot time for many users. All that is needed is to be able to filter by Ship to State rather than Name State. Where it is shipped is what matters, not the billing state. This string has been going on for quite awhile and I am not sure why Quickbooks is not taking the importance of this report to heart...

If you pull a Sales Tax Liability Report and Customize it to show "Ship To" the report still picks up the "Bill To" and is a headache...like everything else with this stupid software.
I pulled a report by "Ship To" and the states were missing. When I look at each customer invoice, sure enough QB is picking up the freaking "Bill To" every time.
OMG...QB YOU SUCK!
