Spreadsheet Sync Custom Report

If I create a custom report inside QB, let us say a "Transaction Detail Report", will it be accessible and can be exported thru Spreadsheet Sync? If I place new values in the columns that are out of scope of data from QB, will it move down if I enter a new transaction in QB and when it synced?

Thank you.

Spreadsheet Sync Custom Report

Welcome to the Community, @pavian.

Yes, you can export data to Spreadsheet Sync, as it is one of the features of QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let me walk you through the steps to help you solve this matter.

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Search for and select the report you want to export.
  3. At the top of the report, select the Export/Print icon. Then, choose Run Report and sync data in Excel.
  4. It will then direct your Spreadsheet Sync page.

Any changes that apply to your Spreadsheet Sync will automatically reflect on your QBO Advance account. If you want to edit or add data to your QBO, you can follow the steps below:

  1. In the Spreadsheet Sync panel, select Create a report.
  2. Choose your QBO Advanced company from the Select company ▼ dropdown.
  3. Select Company Settings in the spreadsheet sync toolbar when you have more than one company, then select Add Company to start using that company's data.
  4. Pick Select report to choose the report or template you want to use.
  5. Select Data to get to filter data for the report.
  6. For reports, in the filter window. Filters vary depending on the report type.
  7. In the Filters section, choose the Date, Period, Accounting Method, Class, Location, Customer/Vendor, or Item.
  8. Under Date Range, select whether to see weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly data and the start and end dates of your data period.
  9. Once the report is generated, a Report Created window appears.

Please know, that only QBO Advance admin users can open and manage the Spreadsheet Sync.

Spreadsheet Sync Custom Report

Hello,

I have followed all the steps and for some reason the number of transactions pulled in my custom report in QBO and what gets pulled into excel through the spreadsheet sync do mot match.

Why would this be the case?

Thank you for your help.

Spreadsheet Sync Custom Report

Thank you for posting your question in the Community, nickmorneau. I understand having accurate data when running reports is essential for every business.

Inconsistencies between QBO and Excel when using Spreadsheet Sync are often caused by duplicate entries, incorrect filters, data type, and source issues.

To resolve the discrepancy, you can refresh the synced data in Excel to pull the latest information from QBO. Just go to Refresh in the toolbar and click Current Sheet to select new data filters. Then, right-click on a cell and select Refresh.

It's also a good idea to review and adjust the filters being used to refresh the worksheet to ensure accurate syncing of data.

Just in case you're still getting the same result, I would recommend reaching out to our phone or chat support teams. They can take a closer look at the data and check what's causing the differences between QBO and your Excel file.

Spreadsheet Sync Custom Report

i've created a couple of custom fields in QBO and am able to include them in a custom report which is just the transaction list report with one of the new fields included.  i've saved this report under a different name.  However, when i go to the spreadsheet sync screen, this report isn't one of my choices to use.  what am i doing wrong that causes this report not to appear as a choice for sync?

thanks,
