Buy nowIf I am selling in person Square gift cards, and online eGift Cards, and I also offer discounts for in person Square Gift Cards, and a promotional discount for online eGift Cards. I want them to populate in QuickBooks under service categories titled "Gift Cards" and "Gift Card Discounts". Yet, they are only populating as Square Items.
I know by default they populate as such if they are not mapping or assigned to a category, but I checked my mapping and it should be correct.
What else could cause this to happen? Do the names, price, discount amount etc need to show as an exact match on QBO for it to map correctly?
Hello there, @musicbizlover.
I understand that you have already checked and verified how you mapped the items to QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, please know the QBO depends on what Square sends into the application.
The Connect to Square app automatically labels imported product and service names as Square Item. What we can do is manually change the same product and service items once for the app to remember them for future transactions. To make it easier, we can import your product and service items directly from Square.
This guarantees that the names of products and services in QuickBooks correspond precisely with those in Square.

Thank you for your help. How would I manually assign to a specific category? Are you saying I should manually assign gift card transactions for example, to my Gift Card folder, and manually assign any discounts to my Gift Card discount folder?
With that, all future transactions that are Gift Cards, or Gift Card Discounts should map there automatically?
I know you also gave an example of a customer's names requiring an exact match, which is the same as product and services. Does that mean I need to know the exact name of how Gift Cards and Gift Card Discounts are listed from Square, and add that to QBO?
I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on this, @musicbizlover.
