Templates and Layout Designer

I want to add a lot of text which I'd like to put on the 2nd page of a Sales Order.  The layout designer is not automatically adding the 2nd page.  How do I add the 2nd page?

Hello there, @whs37.

Right now, adding a second page for your sales order template is not an option since the second page will be created if the first page is already filled with transaction information.

I appreciate you for sharing this idea on how we can improve the customization feature of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Enterprise. With this said, I suggest submitting feedback to our Product Development Team. They look through submitted feedbacks for future updates and use those suggestions to develop changes for the product.

To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the top.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Click Product Suggestion
  4. Click on the drop-down for Type of Feedback and select Product Suggestion.
  5. Select the Product Area.
  6. Enter your thoughts and suggestions.
  7. Click Send Feedback.

To be updated with our latest news and updates, including product improvements, I encourage you to visit the What's New section on your QBDT account or open this link to view our product update blogs.

To know more about customizing form templates, see this article: Use and customize form templates.

Please know that I'm only a post away should you have any questions. Have a great day.

I am not able to get Layout designer for the Bill Payment template.  It does not show at the bottom like all the other template forms.  Please help.

Thanks for reaching out to us, TD3236.

I'm here to share additional insights about customizing the Bill Payment template in QuickBooks Desktop.

The option to have Additional Customization or Layout Designer to make extra changes for the bill payment template is unavailable. That's why it doesn't show at the bottom of the template. That said, you may want to submit feedback to our developers. This way, they can review it and might add it to their future product updates. You can follow the steps provided by my peer above on submitting feedback.

You can check this article that offers a wide variety of ready-made vendor reports that tell you where your company stands, in terms of expenses and accounts payable: Customize vendor reports.

Don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have other concerns about the bill payment template, and managing your vendor transactions in QBDT. I'll be happy to help.

Importing a customised layout is unavailable, @max456. You'll want to make use of the built-in editor instead to personalise your sales forms.

I can see that being able to import your own template for quotes and estimates is a great option. As of June 29, 2021, this is no longer supported for all-new QuickBooks Online accounts. This is why you only have QuickBooks Themes inside of QuickBooks Labs.

You'll want to make use of our templates and edit them according to your needs. You can check out the detailed steps here: Customise invoices, quotes, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online

You can also view, create, and edit sales transactions from within the page. This allows you to see the status and amounts of your sales transactions at a glance. This includes open or recently paid invoices and unbilled items like quotes.

If you have follow-up questions or concerns with quotes and invoices, please don't hesitate to reply. I'll be around for you. Take care and have a lovely weekend.
