How do I create a list of classes showing the active and inactive classes set up in QuickBooks

The class list on the List menu does not allow me to select the active status for the report. I need to see a complete list of the classes, both active and inactive.

File menu > Utilities, Export, Lists to .iif file. Checkmark Class List ==> Export and Name the file it saves, such as Class.iif. Open this using Excel, to see Columns. The Column Header HIDDEN with "Y" = Inactive in the data file.

Hello pennees,

It's a pleasure to help you create a list of your classes.

You can print a list of all of your active and inactive classes from the Class List page. Start by clicking Lists at the top menu bar. Then put a mark on the Include Inactive box.

Once done, click the Class drop-down, then select Print List. You'll be prompted by a List Reports dialog box, just click Ok to continue. You'll then have the option to Print it right away, or Preview the list.

Feel free to see the screenshot I've attached below.

Thank you for the response. However, this does not solve my issue. In the first sentence of my question, I stated I needed to select the active status for my class list. While I can print it, I cannot choose to print only the active or only the inactive. This is what I need to do.

Thanks for clarifying your concern @pennees,

The Class List page can give us the option to print just the active classes, or both active and inactive classes. If you only want a list of the active ones, just remove the mark on the Include Inactive box.

At this time, the option to print a list of your inactive classes is unavailable. If this helps track some of your business transactions, you can send us a suggestion to add this option.

Just go to Help, click Send Feedback Online, then select Product Suggestion. Any suggestions we get from customers are evaluated by our product engineers for future updates.

If there's more that I can help you with, don't hesitate to add a comment below. I'll be around.
