Unable to connect to Quickbook

I’m ready to assist you in smoothly importing your W2 into QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @sromero1160. Below, I’ll outline the solutions to help you tackle the error message you encountered during the W2 upload.

First, let’s look at some common reasons for encountering Error 15107 while importing W2 in the software:

  • The Shared Download drive wasn't mapped correctly
  • A missing file or component for payroll updates
  • Damaged windows files
  • A firewall setting that may block payroll updates in QuickBooks Desktop
  • QuickBooks File Copy Service (FCS) is disabled
  • Unable to verify digital signatures

To rectify the prompt, you'll want to ensure QBDT has permission to access restricted parts of your Windows system. Thus, you'll need to have it running as the administrator. These are the steps:

  1. Close your company files and QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Right-click on the QuickBooks Desktop icon, then select Run as Administrator.
  3. Select Yes on the message that says, "Do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer?"
  4. Download the latest QuickBooks Desktop product updates or the latest payroll tax table update again.

For reference, see the image below.

You can also utilize the QuickBooks Tools Hub option to help you in troubleshooting the error. To start, you'll want to set it up on your system through these steps:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.6.0.8) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be on the bottom.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
