When is order acknowledgement available in quickbooks online?

Don't hold your breath, there are so many things QBO needs that is not going to make the top 100, IMO.

Best you can do is retitle an estimate and use that

I appreciate you for checking the availability of this feature, jeroenweijers7.

Creating an order acknowledgment is still currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Alternatively, you can create a custom template to one of your sales forms and change the name to Order Acknowledgement.

I'll show you an example using an estimate:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the upper right.
  2. Select Custom Form Styles under Your Company.
    1.PNG
  3. Choose New Style, and click Estimate from the drop down.
    2.PNG
  4. Go to the Content tab, click the upper section.
  5. Then, enter Order Acknowledgement on the Form names section.
    1.PNG
  6. Go to the Emails tab. then type in Order Acknowledgement on the Subject section.
  7. Click Done.
    2.PNG
  8. To rename the template, click Edit on the Custom form styles page.
  9. Enter the new name and click OK.

For more information about this process, you can visit this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QBO.

Also, you can look for a third party applications that can help create an order acknowledgement that best suits your business needs.

Here's are the steps to route you to QuckBooks Apps:

  1. Go to this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/.
  2. Choose an application from the results.
  3. You can click Learn more for more information about the app.

All the applications listed are verified and approved by our product engineers to work best with QuickBooks Online.

While we continue to work on improving the features of the product, I want you to stay updated with the latest QuickBooks news and features by visiting our QuickBooks blog.

If I can be of assistance, please don't hesitate to leave me a comment below. Have a wonderful day ahead.

When is order acknowledgement available in quickbooks online?

Hello,

Thank you for sharing the possibility of creating the order acknowledgement. I followed the steps mentioned in the post but when i try to change the subject of the emails, it gives me an error saying that the email subject should have Estimate and it does not save the form.

Do you have any work around for that?

Thanks.

Thanks for hopping in this conversation, @MG-VI. I appreciate you following the steps shared by my colleague.

Yes, I got you some workaround to successfully save the subject name of the emails. You can include the word Estimate in your subject such as Order Acknowledgment/Estimate, then click Done to save your work.

Another option is to leave it as Order Acknowledgment, then close it by clicking the button next to Send feedback. After that, select Save and Exit when prompted. See screenshots below:

save and exit.JPG

That will save the changes you've made on the subject of the emails.

When is order acknowledgement available in quickbooks online?

Good day, @Koufakas.

Let me walk you through the steps on how to create and send estimates in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Here's how:

  1. Click + New and select Estimate.
  2. Choose a customer from the Customer drop-down list.
  3. If the work has already started, select a status from the Pending ▼ drop-down list.
  4. Set the Estimate Date and the Expiration Date.
  5. Enter the products and services you plan to sell.
  6. Add any other info you need.
  7. When you're ready, click Save and send.

Once done, you can now convert the estimate to an invoice so you can bill your customer.

Please take note that the workflow for estimates and invoices will look different depending on whether you have the old or the new version. To get more details, check out this article: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

You're more than welcome to visit this thread again if need any other help with managing your sales transactions. Have a good one.

Is this really still the only option?  It seems like such a hack workaround.  PO acknowledgements are standard practice so it's a bit disconcerting that it's completely missing.  Is it at least on the roadmap?

Hello there, @mr_samuel.

Allow me to provide some insights regarding QuickBooks' order acknowledgement feature.

This functionality is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online.

However, my colleague from the prior post suggested a workaround for developing a custom template for one of your sales forms. You can rename it Order Acknowledgement after you've created it.

For the detailed steps, you can check out the answer provided by @Charies_M.

When is order acknowledgement available in quickbooks online?

Good afternoon,

I was able to create the order confirmation based on an estimate. However, at the bottom of the e-mail there is a summary mentioning estimate, which I cannot edit. Could you please let me know what I missed?

Thank you,

Hello there, @TanjaVT.

It's good to see that you’re performing an estimate and you’re doing a great job!

Allow me to clarify your concern about the message displayed on the statement in QuickBooks Online.

This can be used as a memo or as a summary of your customer's invoice to include on the next statement. Regardless of whether you write a custom message in this box, it will not display on printed invoices or be visible to your customers.

Because this portion is optional, you can simply move on to the next step with or without entering a message in this box.

Furthermore, if you want to customize your estimate, invoices, and sales forms, you can utilize this article to keep it unique and personalized.

Let me know if still have clarification about creating an estimate. Just leave a comment here in Community.

When is order acknowledgement available in quickbooks online?

Hi ChristineJoieR ,

Thank you for your response and instructions. I am afraid I was not very clear in my initial question. I am not referring to the "Message displayed on statement", but on the e-mail "message to customer" that is sent when e-mailing the confirmation. There is a text in the footer of the e-mail (see highlight) that shows a summary of the order. It seems there is no option of changing that. Hope you can advise me how to change that.

Thanks,

Tanja

I appreciate you for getting back to us, Tanja.

Thanks for adding a screenshot. It gives me a visual representation of your concerns.

Currently, the option to modify the details under the Estimate summary field is unavailable in QuickBooks. It's designed this way so you'll have an overview of the estimate created.

That said, I'll take note of this suggestion and share it with our Developers page.

In the meantime, you can visit this page to know the latest and updated features in QuickBooks: Customer Feedback.

In addition, when you're ready to convert an estimate to an invoice, you can check this guide: Convert Estimate to an Invoice.

Keep me posted, Tanja. I'll be around to help you out!

When is order acknowledgement available in quickbooks online?

Hi Adrian,

Thank you for your swift response. Sorry to hear that we cannot change that. We are looking for an order confirmation and the modification of the estimate was the only way to do that in QBO. However, the word "Estimate" still shows up in the Estimate summary field. If we cannot change that, we unfortunately cannot send out the order confirmation through QBO. We do not want to confuse customers with sending an order confirmation and estimate still showing up in the e-mail. Hopefully, you will be able to resolve this soon or offer an order confirmation option. It is quiet essential to businesses.

Thank you,

Tanja

When is order acknowledgement available in quickbooks online?

Tanja (and all other users of QBO),

don't hold your breath - this has been an issue for years yet the QBO people find it more important to develop their Loans offers (as if they are a bank...) and all other items from which they can profit rather than offering basic and necessary business tools and system functionality.  Pretty ridiculous but shows how out of touch they are...profit before performance.

Missing also is a proper Packing List as it doesn't even include the Product SKU! You know, the part number that EVERYONE in the world uses for their products when they offer more than a few products!?! QB instructs you to add the SKU to the product description...how half-_ _ sed is that!  Ridiculous!

Can't even create your own template!

Wakeup QBO development team!

When is order acknowledgement available in quickbooks online?

Thanks for chiming in on this thread, @Snowboarder. I'll be sharing some information about the packing slip in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I understand how beneficial it is for your business to print the purchase order with the SKU column. However, the option to include the SKU when printing the packing slip is unavailable.

As a workaround, you can enter the SKU in the Description column when creating an invoice or sales receipt transaction.

Packing slip.PNG

If you haven't turned on the SKU feature in QuickBooks Online, just follow the steps below to enable it:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, and select Account and Settings.
  2. Choose the Sales tab.
  3. Enable the Show SKU column under the Products and services section.
  4. Select Save, then Done.

For more information about packing slips, check out this article: Create and print a packing slip.

You can send a request to our product developers about the enhancement. They'll review all the feedback we receive to ensure we’re meeting the needs of our customers.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Click Next.

Additionally, you can customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts to make them personalize and add the information that matters most to your business.

You can always leave a reply below if you have any other questions about your packing slips or anything else. I'll be here if you need further assistance. Have a wonderful day!

When is order acknowledgement available in quickbooks online?

I have just switched over from Desktop to Online.

I cannot believe a sales and accounting software does not have the option to convert an estimate/quote to a sales order/order acknowledgement.

This system is supposed to save time.  THIS is laughable at this point in time.  I will be SURE to shout from the roof tops "DO NOT USE QUICKBOOKS!"

WHY?   Just WHY? have the developers not thought this through!  answer - they are not business owners, just mice on the wheel!   YES, I am TOATTLY &^%&%^( annoyed with them!

When is order acknowledgement available in quickbooks online?

Hello there, @dee n. I understand how important this feature could be for your needs

Please know that the order acknowledgement feature is still unavailable in QuickBooks Online. As a workaround, you can create a custom template for your old or new estimate layout. I'm here to assist you with the process.

To create a new template:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Custom form styles
  2. Click New style, then choose Estimate.
  3. Hover to the Content tab and click the upper section.
  4. Scroll down and enter Order Acknowledgement in the Form names section.
  5. Go to the Emails tab, then type Order Acknowledgement/Estimate in the Subject section.
  6. Hit Done.

    Sample.jpg

Now, let's rename the template:

  1. From the Custom form styles page, locate the estimate you've made the changes to.
  2. Click the dropdown beside Edit, then select Rename
  3. Type in the new name and click OK.

    Sample.jpg

To create an estimate using the new template:

  1. Go to +New, then select Estimate
  2. Complete all necessary details.
  3. Once done, click Manage
  4. Select Design and tick Order Acknowledgment
  5. Click Save.

    Sample.jpg

Moreover, you can duplicate your estimates and invoices in QuickBooks. This feature will save you time by eliminating the need to enter the same information twice.

You're always welcome to reach out again if you need further clarification regarding estimates or other QuickBooks features. Just type in your response by tapping the reply button below.
