Join nowWelcome to the Community page. I see your concern regarding the recent change in QuickBooks' invoice settings that no longer allow a 50% deposit option on your end, @info1957.
Allow me to share details about adding a deposit to an invoice.
We are on a journey to move customers using the old/classic invoice/estimate experiences to the new invoice/estimate experiences for web and mobile. Some features aren't supported on the new invoice experience, including the inability to apply a deposit towards an invoice.
If you want to enter a 50% deposit to an invoice, you may want to switch to the old experience. Please be aware that once you opt out, there isn't a way to opt back into the new interface.
Here's how we can revert to the old layout:
Additionally, I'll be sharing the following resources to help you manage your invoices in QBO. It includes steps on how to personalize sales forms and enter invoice payments:

I am having the same problem and cannot see a place on invoice to go back to old layout.
I'm having the same issue and can't see that option to go back to old layout. Can someone help, we need to send out invoices for 50% deposits to be paid immediately. Thanks
For some reason the new and old layout will not allow the 50% deposit option any longer. Now you will need to go to the quantity box and put half of whatever it is. Then when its time for 2nd payment you go to the 1st invoice and click duplicate.
Hello there, @aiwraps and @info1957. I've got some clarifications to share about the old and new invoice layouts in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Only Essentials, Plus, and Advanced versions of QBO have the option to switch back to the old invoice layout. Simple Start users, except those who have been using the Progress Invoicing feature, will not have this option as they will not be migrated in the first place.
If you're not using QBO Simple Start and you can't revert to the old layout, I'd recommend accessing your account using a private browser as this might be caused by too many cached files. If this works, you can go ahead and clear your regular browser's cache and cookies or switch to another supported browsing application.
With regard to the option to deposit 50% of the invoice amount, please know that this option is available on both old and new layouts, regardless of the subscription. You may want to make sure that the Deposit option is turned on in your Account and Settings and on the Payment Options section of the invoice.
Also, it's worth noting that we can only enter a flat amount, not percentage-based.
You may also want to take advantage of our progress invoicing feature where you'll have an option to split an estimate into as many invoices as you need so you won't have to ask for a full payment: Set up and use progress invoices in QuickBooks Online.
I'm still willing to give out some more information about the old and new invoice layouts in QuickBooks Online should you need one. just hit on the Reply button and I'll be here to assist you thoroughly. Keep safe.
