Will Bill Pay Online payments send vendors (specifically, international bank transfer recipients) confirmation emails?

We pay all of our professional services partners through the bill.com service via Quickbooks (not the separate bill.com site). Typically they send us a bill and we pay it, though we do initiate payments at times. In these cases, we've never had complaints about no confirmation emails being send to the vendor. However, we just initiated our first international bank transfer payment to a contractor, and we were told that they did not receive any sort of confirmation email for this transfer. Should they have? I would hope so. Is there a configuration option we're just missing here?

Yes, Online Bill Pay payment send vendors international confirmation emails. Please make sure that you use the vendor's email for the confirmation so that they'll know the payment is on its way.

Thank for this! It was helpful. To point out for future readers, that video does not represent the same steps for initiating a new payment to a vendor. The interface is quite different in the video, where they are paying outstanding invoices that were sent from a vendor.

 

I walked back through the steps and confirmed that the payment notification email is set correctly. Apparently the email doesn't send immediately when the payment is initiated. When does a payment notification email go out? Is it based on the "Send On" date?

Yes, a notification email goes out on the "send on" date or the date you set up to process the payment. Also, for clarification, the video is for another third party app not related to the Bill Pay service integrated with QBO.

 

I'd suggest reaching out to our support team. They can do screen-share using one of their tools and verify why your contractor didn't receive any confirmation email.
