QuickBooks Expert Q&A | Help me prepare for year-end!

I'd love to share a question we see come up in here in the Community quite often: "What reports will I need to make sure I am prepared for year-end, and where do I find them?"

QuickBooks Expert Q&A | Help me prepare for year-end!

I'd love to take this one, @cody_a!

Reviewing your main financial reports is crucial during year-end to see how much you’ve made, identify any issues, and check for discrepancies. The Profit and Loss report and Balance Sheet are some common reports to review.

Follow these steps:
  1. Go to Business overview then select Reports (Take me there), or go to Reports (Take me there).
  2. In the Find report by name field, search for the Profit and Loss report and Balance Sheet. Then review them.
  3. Make sure the Profit for the Year figure matches the balance of the Profit and Loss report.
  4. Check other reports as needed.

Our Year-end guide for QuickBooks Online has a lot more on closing out the previous year and preparing for the new one!
