It's is a problem known by Intuit. Payroll error PS038. Paychecks get stuck as "online to send" related to downloading tax table updates. We had a huge number of checks that had to be deleted and re-entered due to this error, it took us many hours of time and frustration. We do not want to go through that ever again!!

@lk32 Chiming in on your report of QuickBooks causing issues with Adobe Acrobat, I do not currently see any active investigations on clashes between the two programs. The next step would be to get this formally submitted to our engineering team for investigation. 

While I wish I could do this through the community, it does require sensitive data that we can not collect here. This will need to be reported through frontline support (phone or chat), but I'll be here through the process. @Janetccc Thank you for your reply and for providing additional details so I can better address your paycheck concerns.We understand how frustrating this error can be when trying to process payroll checks.

@lk32  I love your suggestion about being able to select a preferred credit card for payments. I can see how that would be valuable to your workflow, and for others as well.

I am unaware of any features like this on the product roadmap, but I will make sure to share this with the product team so that they are aware of the positive impact it would make in your day-to-day work in QuickBooks.
