Thinking about sending a holiday card to employees, clients and suppliers this year? If so, you may be weighing the time, cost and impact of sending a handwritten, personalized greeting vs. a more generic “thank you” or “happy holidays” message (email or otherwise). This dilemma got us thinking:
If not, how else do you show your customers you care during the busy season? Do you send gifts or reach out with a personalized message? Something else?
We can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this one!
I think it needs to fit the personality of your firm.
I do send handwritten thank you cards, but I don't think holiday cards will be in my future. I'm not bah humbug, I'm just not festive.
We don't actually send seperate cards to our customers, but all of our invoices have a handwritten note on them and all orders have a "Special Bakers Pick" sample of one of our other products. :)
I do send out handwritten Holiday cards. All the time. It's part of my customer intake.
Since I am still working on the hand written notes out to the people I met at QB Connect, I am concerned that my clients may have to wait a little :manlol: .
With that in mind I have an interesting question in return. Did you know that there is a company Bond that can create custom hand written notes using robotics?
One of my clients has been part of the development team and it sounds pretty cool. Maybe I should give it a try!!
What does everyone think about... to Bond or not to Bond?
Wow, @ParkwayInc! While I'm amazed I'm also super... I don't know... is crestfallen the word maybe??? that anyone would want a machine to "handwrite" their notes for them. For me, a huge component of writing something by hand is the time, attention and intention that goes into sitting down and putting my own hand to paper. The act of it, the sound of it, the warming (and sometimes cramping) of the small muscles in my hand -- it all contirubtes to my expression. I think I'll continue with my old fashioned ways when it comes to handwritten cards, and continue to insist that my kids practice their cursive as well!
Not to bond. I enjoy the sharpening of my pencil and the way a freshly sharpened DIXON ticonderoga #2 pencil smells....aaaahhhhh. It really is the little things that we and sometimes clients cherish.
I am over it. But am going to send gifts to my clients to show I appreciate them. But I am over Christmas cards all together. Waste of paper. I know “bah humbug”!
