It’s no surprise that in today’s day and age social media is a huge part of any business’s Marketing strategy. It is, however, easy to get it wrong, which can affect your brand negatively. That’s why I want to touch on this topic a bit and provide you with 5 tips for building a successful social media presence. Let’s go through these together!
Choose the platforms that fit your audience
Spend some time figuring out which platforms fit your business and audience the best. Each platform has a different personality so it’s important to not stretch yourself out too thin by being on all social channels. Think about what your business goals are, and who your audience is. For example, if you have an older demographic, then Facebook will have the best reach.
Interact
Broadcast messages simply don’t work alone on social media. You must engage with your customers by asking questions, posting polls, opening discussions up to the community, and figuring out what their needs are.
Post exciting and engaging content consistently
The key to being successful on social media is to post engaging, entertaining, and educational content that is relevant to your followers. It is super important to be consistent with this and find the number of posts to schedule daily. For Facebook and Instagram, one post daily may be good, whereas, for Twitter, more than one is encouraged as posts have a shorter shelf life.
Link your website to your social media pages
If your business has a website, link your social media pages. This helps make you more discoverable by posting your social page icons at the top or bottom of your website. You can also include your website page in the bios of your Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter pages!
Use video
Using video as part of your content strategy is huge right now. It helps get more exposure and engagement with your content because it generally has a longer shelf life. It is also a huge appeal to the Gen Z crowd, and it can even be repurposed across multiple platforms! Go ahead and give this a try if you haven’t implemented a video strategy yet.
That’s all! I hope you found these simple tips helpful in getting you started with building a social media presence for your business. If you have any tips in your pocket, please share them in the comments below. We would love to hear from you!
