It's not for every business type, but a marketing funnel is an excellent way to get targeted customers.
There are various forms of funnels, but my favorite is in giving away a newsletter or some other incentive, like a discount or even a freebie in exchange for someone's contact information, such as an email.
The email is used to drive traffic to these existing customers as well as build a good relationship with the list of subscribers.
In using a marketing funnel you are only going to get a small percentage of these people to take any action, but that's just part of the sales funnel. You may only get 1-5% response, but with enough volume you should do exceptionally well.
If you notice many of the big name brands, they all have email marketing as part of their sales/marketing funnel... it' is because it is proven to work!
How can you market your customers when quick books took the ability to do a customer base email blast away.
I used to be able to do an email blast in quick books that linked to my desktop outlook to notify them of company promotions and updates via email blast
Now I cant cuz quick books took it away ***unacceptable***
They must be a Democrat lol

This is totally NOT true. I have gotten many clients through facebook!
I've personally seen my brother-in-law grow his clientele with Facebook ads exclusively. He selects his target market or "ideal consumer" and targets them specifically. His business wouldn't be what it is today without it. Now, that being said, this doesn't mean that Facebook advertising is for everyone or every business. It sounds to me like you've tried this approach before and haven't had success. Maybe try chaining your Ad or try using another platform for marketing/advertising! I hope this helps.
Actually a 1% response or a 5% response is not bad at all. Before there was much social media our business used direct mail campaigns. Sending brochures or flyers to related businesses had about a 1/2 to 1% return rate and you had to design, pay a printer and pay for mailing. There's nothing like face to face networking for better returns. Cold calls work well, although most people are afraid to go out and do it. Joining local groups and offering free classes give you a nice but slow return on your investment of time.
This is the endless challenge for entrepreneurs! Social Media is an IMPORTANT tool in this era, not just Facebook but Instagram is really big and should be part of a marketing plan. I agree with tend to your current clientele and continue to build business there but never stop looking for new customers. A HUGE part of your marketing needs to be the consistent message you put out through all of your marketing avenues. Your website, your Facebook page, your other social media profiles, your marketing emails, any signage you use AND any networking you might do.
