1099-never for 2023 new user

I just started using Quickbooks in January 2024. Is there a way I can enter my payments to contractors for the purpose of printing and filing 1099-NEC?

I can share some information about setting up your account for 1099 filing, @southgacustom.

You can create and file 1099 forms in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Contractor Payments, or QuickBooks Desktop. You'll need to file a Form 1099-NEC for any non-employee that you paid $600 or more in cash during the previous year (except electronic payments) as well as any federal income tax from under the backup withholding rules

All you need to do in your QuickBooks Online account is set up your 1099 contractors. Once you've completed the setup process, QuickBooks will automatically track all of their payments in the background. When it's time to file your 1099s, you can easily add the tracked payments to the form. If you have any questions about who needs to file a 1099-NEC, you can find more information by visiting this article: Get answers to your 1099 questions

Here's how you can enter and manage expenses in QuickBooks Online

Once you're ready to file for tax year 2023, you can follow the steps outlined in the following article: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Online

Please take note of this article to get the instructions when processing corrections for 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC forms: Correct or change 1099s in QuickBooks. In case you need to file 1099s for your state, see this File your state 1099 forms article for more information.

Let me know if you need more information about preparing and filing your 1099-NEC. I'm always here to assist. Have a wonderful day!
