1099

i have QBO and have submitted 1099 for my vendors about a week ago. The recipient copy indicates "mailed". the status indicates "accepted".  Does it mean QBO sent copy to each of my vendors and each of 1099 is accepted by IRS. ??

When the status of your 1099 Recipient's Copy shows as Mailed, it means QuickBooks has sent a transcript of the form to your vendors. On the other hand, the Accepted 1099 form indicates that the IRS has received your filing.

 

That said, you can contact your vendors to confirm if they've already acquired a copy of the form within a week. If not, you can print out the form from the Taxes menu after e-filing them.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Navigate to the Taxes menu, then 1099 filings.
  2. Modify the Current filings, Status, and From Type fields accordingly.
  3. Locate the form from the list and click View 1099 to view and save a PDF copy of the form.
  4. Send the saved PDF to your vendors manually via email.

 

Meanwhile, you'll get an email notification from the IRS after they've processed your submission.

Once QuickBooks has mailed a copy of the 1099 form to your contractor, the additional costs may vary, Suren. I will provide details on how much you can pay for each mailed 1099 form.

 

Please know that filing and mailing your 1099 electronically in QBO Payroll is unlimited. However, printing and mailing copies of 1099s to recipients will cost $5.99 for first 3 form or customer can print themselves from the 1099 filings page and mail at their expense if you didn't subscribe for QBO Payroll plans.

 

Printing costs may vary based on the number of forms printed and mailed for regular QuickBooks plans. You can review this screenshot below:

 

However, if you have subscribe for QuickBooks Online Payroll plans, no additional fees for printed and mailed copies to recipients.

Thank you Ivan. One more question related to 1099 submission.  I did not get a charge from QBO for this service. I like to know how much I owe? is there a way to find out. I called customer service and they did not know.
