I have been doing my sales tax the same for the last couple of years and all of the sudden quickbooks is not applying the credit properly.
When paying sales tax there is a discount for timely payment. I go into the sales tax report and make an adjustment prior to applying the payment. I select the credit/discount reason and the sales tax discount account (income) and it has always then applied a discount to the sales tax due.
Now, all of the sudden it is adding the amount to the total instead of subtracting. I am unable to put in a negative value because it won't accept it. What is going on here? please see attached.
