Sales Tax - Amount Due and Amount Paid is spot on, but the amount that posts in register is higher. Does not deduct an adjustment selected

Sales Tax - Amount Due and Amount Paid is spot on, but the amount that posts in register is higher. Does not deduct an adjustment amount selected, hence the amount that posts in register is too high.  Why doesn't QB recognize and deduct the amount selected with all the other amounts to be paid?

I understand how challenging this is, office manager.

To get started, may I ask for a screenshot of the discrepancies or the issue you've encountered on the register? I would greatly appreciate your response on this.

In the meantime, we can perform basic troubleshooting steps to find common issues in your company file that might be causing this.

We can Verify your company data to fix these company file data issues.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Window tab, then select Close All.
  2. Go to the File menu, and then hit Utilities.
  3. Choose Verify Data. If you see:
  • QuickBooks detected no problems with your data: The data is clean.
  • An error message: We can search for it on our QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) support site on how to fix it.
  • Your data has lost integrity: Data damage is detected. Rebuild your data to fix it.

Then, we can Rebuild your company file data to ensure we can fix any issues.

However, if the issue persists, we can use the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub to fix common QuickBooks Desktop issues.

Additionally, I've added this article about handling issues or unexpected results you may encounter while managing your sales tax in QBDT: How to resolve common sales tax issues
