I am trying to import my QuickBooks Desktop 2021 data into TurboTax Business 2023 with no luck.
The message says " No QuickBooks Desktop file has been found", yet the file is on the same drive where TT is installed. There is no "Browse" button".
I have done this several (more than 10 years in a row) before and there were no issues.
Contacted support 3 times - they don't have a solution.
Does anyone know a way around it?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You just need to install the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise and reboot your machine to trigger TurboTax to recognize your QB Desktop 2021. You don't need to run QB Desktop 2024 or upgrade your file on it..

I'm here to assist you with importing your data from QuickBooks Desktop to TurboTax.
It's possible that your company file was moved or renamed that's why you're getting the error. This also happens when your computer is disconnected from the path where the QuickBooks file is located or it could be that the file was deleted in your program.
To resolve this issue, we can try some troubleshooting steps. If you're accessing your QuickBooks file over the network, I suggest using the Ping server to make sure you're connected to the network. Here's how you can do it:
If the problem persists even after doing this, you may proceed to Solution 2 by referring to this article which explains the process in detail: Company file is missing or cannot be found. This also includes the steps if your file is saved locally on the same computer.
Once you've found the file, please take note of its location and follow the instructions in this article to restore it on your software: Restore your file. After completing these steps, you can now proceed to import QuickBooks data into TurboTax Business.
Feel free to post here anytime if you have other questions about importing your files from QBDT to Turbotax. We're always glad to assist you.
You just need to install the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise and reboot your machine to trigger TurboTax to recognize your QB Desktop 2021. You don't need to run QB Desktop 2024.
Can you please provide a link to this trial? (Windows).
There is no problem with QB accessing the file - it's working fine.
The problem is that TurboTax Business cannot find it and is not importing it.
Hello, @ahadjiev.
Thanks for your interest in getting QuickBooks Desktop for your business. I'm here to give the trial link for QuickBooks Desktop.
We only offer a 30-day trial for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 2024. You can test out the features and server-related functions with the trial version of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 2024. You can download it here: Download a trial of QuickBooks Desktop.
In case you need help with the installation, you can check out this article for a guide: Install QuickBooks Desktop (guides for getting started are also included in the article).
On the other hand, upgrading your company file in QBDT is irreversible. Thus, it isn't possible to downgrade your file. What you can do is utilize a backup copy of your company file from a previous version if you have any and access the file in your older version of QBDT.
Do you have any other concerns regarding the features and functions of QuickBooks? Or do you need help setting up your server in the future? Let me know and I'll help you out.
I'm having the same issue. My Desktop QB works fine, but TurboTax Business says there is no QB Desktop installed and can't find the file. It is on the C: Drive. Isn't there a simple workaround or fix for this?

Does it have to be the Enterprise version or can it be Premier?
Any edition will be fine as long as it is 2022 or later.
I've gone in circles for hours looking for a trial download. It will take me to a help article that says it will teach you where to download it, but it doesn't. Can you please send me a real link to where I can download a trial of 2024 Desktop Pro?
Intuit does not provide the trial version of QBD 2024 US Pro/Premier. They only provide the trial version of QBD 2024 Enterprise and Mac.
Same issue. It says learn where to download it, but there is no link to the download. Can you please, please, please send me a link or direct me exactly where to go to download it?
Hello there, Steve. I'm here to ensure you can download the QuickBooks Desktop 2024 trial version.
Before proceeding, ensure your computer meets the system requirements to install QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0.
QuickBooks Desktop 2024 requires a 64-bit Windows operating system and will not run on 32-bit. Once you've verified your computer meets the system requirements, you can download the trial install file and save it in a location you'll remember. You don't need any codes to open the trial version, and please don't try to register it, as this could lock you out of QuickBooks.
Here are the links to download:
