So my 940 & 941 are both still in limbo, submitted to Intuit, waiting to be submitted to agency. I was reading on a 2021/2022 post where people were having the same issue. Someone mentioned there that possibly the IRS doesn't begin processing certain business tax forms until mid January. This link was provided. I hope this is the case and that they will begin to process on Jan. 16th like the website suggests. Please anyone weigh in on this if you know something.
Hi Mike,
I just got off chat with QB to follow up on my stuck filings also. The chat person was able to provide me with filing submission ID's for both of my forms, showing that they have indeed been submitted to the IRS. The chat person says that the IRS has not acknowledged receipt yet, so that is why the status is not updating on QB. These filing ID's can prove my timely submission, if it comes down to that.
Hopefully, what you've discovered is correct and that the IRS will start accepting them and everything will be updated soon. Still concerning, as this is very out of character for this whole process. Just wanted to update with what I've found out, since we all seem to be swimming in the same boat. LOL
TiredofTimecards,
Thank you for the feedback, it really helps as we are all indeed in the same boat here. This forum has become invaluable as it is helping us all navigate this storm together. I look forward to the 16th with optimism...why? because I just discovered this. So that website I posted, from that original post I was following from 2022, the person mentioned the website stated Jan. 12 as the date they would begin processing. The website currently states Jan. 16 as you can see from the link I posted. I just checked my e-filings last year before I was the one filing quarterlies/year ends, and low and behold I found the same thing happened last year. My records are showing we submitted the 940 & 941 to Intuit on Jan. 6th, both were not submitted to the agency until that very date of Jan. 12, and the 940 was accepted by the agency the very same day, the 941 was accepted the very next day, Jan 13. So I think we will all be happy by the 17th of January...hopefully...again, fingers crossed.
My VEC 4th quarter report finally cleared the error this morning and I was able to file the report. I suspect the reason that the error didn't clear before this morning is because I use QB in the Right Networks cloud. In case anyone else is also using QuickBooks Desktop in the Right Networks cloud, you cannot update the program yourself, (Help menu, Update QuickBooks Desktop), even though the buttons are there and it appears you are able. Right Networks explained to me that my program is located in the cloud, not on my computer and only they can update it. Usually updates are done on the weekend or at night when there's less usage. The frustrating thing is that QB tech support didn't even know what Right Networks was half the time. This is knowledge they should have considering Right Networks cloud subscription is purchased from QuickBooks.
So I'm replying to myself essentially, but the intent is to update everyone on the issue that started with the VEC report error but then became concerning that the federal forms 940 & 941 were hung up with Intuit. Just updating everyone that it was an issue with the IRS not accepting returns until mid January because my 941s were accepted a couple of days ago and the 940s were just accepted by the agency today. I hope this is the case for everyone else.
Same thing here. 941s, 940s and VEC are all being processed now through. Now I'm printing them all off
My 940s, 941s and VEC confirmations are all coming in now also. IRS is taking about 4 days turnaround to confirm the processing of the W2s which I'm glad to receive. I hope everyone is receiving their confirmations also.
