You only need to reconcile the parent account, tcr4ever39. I can help you adjust the amounts so that you can finish reconciling your account.

Subaccounts are linked to the Parent account, and their combined balances affect the overall bank balance of the parent. However, the combined balances of the Subaccounts do not align with the Parent account due to the inclusion of transactions made within the main account.

Please also review the Check you transferred from the Main account to the Subaccount. Confirm that details such as the transaction date are accurate and posted to the correct subaccount. The status should also not be R (reconciled) on the register.

Additionally, selecting a subaccount to reconcile will only show the transactions under it. In this case, ensure you pick the Parent account and verify that your ending balance amount is precise. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top and select Reconcile (Take me there).
  2. From the Account ▼ dropdown, choose the  Parent account.
  3. On the Reconciliation window, click Edit info.
  4. Review the Ending balance and Ending date.
  5. Check your bank statement. Make edits as needed.
  6. Hit Save.

If you'd like to change an existing account into a subaccount, refer to this guide: Create subaccounts in your chart of accounts.

It's always a good idea to practice this regularly. This way, you can monitor income and expense transactions, including identifying potential errors. Here's an article for more resolutions: Fix issues at the end of a reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.

You're always welcome to post a reply if you have follow-up questions about reconciling accounts in QuickBooks. It's my pleasure to keep your financial data accurate. Take care.
