I appreciate you following the steps above. Allow me to provide some information about inactive an old account in QBO.

 

You'll have the option to make your account inactive. However, let's make sure that you don't use that bank account for some of your transactions.

 

Here's how, to inactive an account:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu at the left pane to get to the Chart of Accounts page.
  2. Locate the expense account.
  3. Click the drop-down option beside the Run report under the Action column.
  4. Choose to Make inactive
