Yes there is, jsimmondsd. I can help you navigate the process to access your file immediately.

With the Find a company file option in QuickBooks Desktop, you can easily locate your company file. Just select it on No Company Open Window. Please know that the following file extensions are automatically searched:

  • .QBW, your QuickBooks working file.
  • .QBB, your QuickBooks backup file.

You can also manually find your backups and files with File Explorer. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Windows Start menu.
  2. Type File Explorer into the search and open it.
  3. Select My Computer or This PC from the navigation bar.
  4. In the search field, type *.qbw, *.qbb to find all files. Make sure you include the asterisk (*) before the extension. You can also search for *.qb for QuickBooks.

To learn more about the process, see this guide: Find QuickBooks company data files and backups.

When done, you can restore it so you can continue manage your company.

I'll be around if you need more help with handling company files in QBDT, just return to this forum anytime and I'll always lend hand.
