We own 2 licenses for Desktop 2018. Had a computer crash last year, and didn't have a chance to deactivate the copy of QB on it. When I called to have my license restored, I was told, "Tought nuggies, we don't support 2018 anymore". This left a very, very sour taste in my mouth. All QB had to do was push a button at their end, but no, the idea is to force me to buy the latest version. We are very minor users with a very small business that doesn't support spending like that. Now we both use the same copy and have to make sure we aren't both trying to access QB at the same time.
Is there any solution for us? Just thought I'd ask the community instead of just bad mouthing Intuit to everyone I see.

Thanks very much for responding, no, I have the original CD but when I try to install the second iteration QB thinks I already have it installed on another computer (the crashed one). I need to somehow clear that from my account (or course, that's what Intuit won't do).
I understand the situation perfectly. You interpret 'version 2018 is no longer supported' to mean that you will have nothing to do with it. My issue is much more a customer support issue rather than asking for help with an outdated version of QB. This is not a complaint about some function in the 2018 version, it is a simply licensing issue. In my opinion, it should have nothing to do with support of a particular version, it is a licensing issue--no matter what year it happens to be.
I appreciate your input from every angle, TakaDave. And I can see the importance of installing QuickBooks Desktop 2018.
When setting up QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), it's important to ensure that your system meets the necessary requirements for optimal performance. In your situation, the error you encountered during installation may have been caused by using an unsupported version of QBDT on your current operating system.
If you wish to continue using QBDT, you may consider upgrading your account or using QuickBooks Online to help you manage your business.

You can't find your license code in CAMPS, correct? You can use the trial version as a workaround.
Thanks for your time. Not sure why I can't see my 2018 copy in CAMPS. I see all of the previous ones like 2009 and 2012. Anyway, my problem is not being able to have multiuser (two in my case) because Intuit thinks I am currently using one license (my crashed computer), so it only allows one more installation. Not sure how using a trial version will allow me to be in multiuser mode. I can use my CD to install one license and use QB (which I do every day), just not the two in multiuser mode. Intuit's only answer is to upgrade or go to the online version instead of simply clearing the second license for me (a really trivial thing to do). Hence, my frustration.
