You can export the P&L report per period to Excel and combine them there, dchapman.
At this time, you can only generate the Profit and Loss report per period. There's no option to combine the current period with the prior ones. Exporting each period to an Excel spreadsheet will do the trick. You can then manually combine them once they're exported.
Here's how:
Please let me now if there's anything else I can help you with.
You can run the standard Profit and Loss report and display columns to show the current month, prior year month, current year to date but not the prior year to date in the same report. See screenshot below for reference.
I have the same issue. Combining reports on Excel is very time consuming because lines can be different and need to be adjusted manually.
I tried using all lines but there were too many extra lines that then need to be deleted - also time consuming.
Is there a way to create a totally custom report in Quick Books?

I find it interesting you say your engineers are listening because they obviously are not. What good is your program if it can't do a basic three-tiered report that is useful? If we wanted to create our own reports we wouldn't need a software program.
