Why do you need to export your data?
Hello there, @Barbara Bernier.
I'd be happy to guide you in exporting your data in QuickBooks Online. This can be done in just a few clicks.
You can export different transactions in QuickBooks Online. Just make sure to select the data that you'd like export then save it to your local hard drive. This way, you can import them anytime.
To do that:
If you want to export other transactions, please see this link attached on how to perform the process depending on the information that you need: Learn how to download your data from QuickBooks Online.

The "Export Data" option is not available under the Gear > Tools list anymore. In the picture it is right between Import and Reconcile, but there is no such option now. Is this a version thing? or did the option move to somewhere else?
Thanks for joining the Community, turbonate. I can confirm the Export data option's available in all subscription plans and can be found in the same area.
I've reviewed our ongoing/solved investigations and confirmed there's currently no records of subscribers reporting that their Export data option isn't showing up under Tools.
I tested this myself in the test drive account and able to see my Export data option. I've included an image showing my experience:
Since it's not showing up for you, I'd recommend checking your browser. It's possible this could have something to do with temporary internet files. Browsing applications store these types of records, but sometimes they can cause issues with certain webpages. You can open a private window and check to see if the Export data option displays.
Here's how to access incognito mode in some of the most commonly used web browsers:
If it's showing up while browsing privately, it's safe to say this problem's being caused by your browser. It can be fixed by clearing cached data and Intuit-specific cookies.
In the event it continues not displaying while using incognito, you'll initially want to try switching to another browsing application.
Here's a list of supported browsers:
You can also check a browser's compatibility with your books by utilizing our browser health checkup tool. QuickBooks supports the current and two previous versions of browsers. If you find that you're using an older version, make sure to update it to its latest release. Steps for doing so can be found on the particular company's website.
In the event you've found no problems that could be causing this with your browser, I'd recommend using a different device and/or internet connection. If it continues happening on other devices and/or internet connections, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
They can be reached while you're signed in:
Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.
I've also included a detailed resource about system requirements for QuickBooks that may come in handy moving forward: System requirements
I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Have a great day!
