Let me guide you in performing some troubleshooting to reset your home screen.
This is most likely the result of a QuickBooks Online app system delay. We can start by doing a few basic troubleshooting procedures to resolve this problem. Let's restart your iPad to update the QuickBooks Online software first. Next, delete the application's data. You can do this inside your app or through your phone's settings by performing the procedures listed below:
After refreshing, you should be able to create sales receipt and reset original home screen. However, if the problem persists, I'd suggest uninstalling and reinstall the app.

Please let me know how it goes. I'd be more than happy to help if you have any queries using you QBO app. Have a nice day!
I phoned QB support about this issue, and was told in no uncertain terms, it’s because an update was made for the app version (for smartphones), that didn’t work on tablets. Seemingly, according to QB, there are so few users with tablets (really???) that there will be no fix or update or resolution.
I’ve just got off the phone with Qb support. They told me that there is no fix or resolution to this issue. That the app was never designed to be used on a tablet, and that there simply aren’t enough tablet users to warrant looking into this issue. I’m absolutely fuming, I’ve used it happily on my iPad for 4 years, now it’s useless.
